Never, I think it will get really close in November but limited supply this holiday season will keep it under. After that MS/Sony pricecuts should make the 360/PS3 more competitive.

It's really hard to say, there is a good possibility by Feb 09' that we could very well see the wii's sales outsell the 360 and PS3 combined, but at the same time the Wii would have to come out with some pretty impressive games coming out for the PS3 and 360 this holiday season as Socom, RFOM:2 , Gears Of War 2, are going to be released with much hype. I think Gears Of War 2 will be able to move some 360's for Microsoft. I have to say though, with FFXIII, GT5, God Of War 3, and Killzone 2 being released next year the Wii will really need some impressive games to be able to outsell both system combined and I believe that PS3 will make up some ground.

Just when PS3 wil start get it`s main hits like Resistance2, LBP, FFXIII, KZ2, Tekken6, GoW3, FFXIIIv, GT5 Wii is going to start selling like 1 mln. per week to outsell combined 400k ps3 + 200k x360. =))

The difference now is 5 mln.

50 weeks = combined ps3+x360 sales + 100k above. (almost one year)
25 weeks = combined ps3+x360 sales + 200k above. (the end of this year)
20 weeks = combined ps3+x360 sales + 250k above. (even faster)

PS3 and x360 getting pricecuts this year, while i don`t see point for Wii have a pricecut, since it selling good. =)) Sales will be stable(if won`t drop), but won`t go up(except Christmas).

Last 10 weeks(without ps3/x360 pricecuts) Wii outsold:
+91k
-143k
+48k
+84k
+230k
+5k
+18k
+141k
+27k
+130k

63k avg. per week.
And PS3 is going to get it`s best tittles during next 50 weeks. =) While x360 will work with it`s agressive price + some games.

What have Wii for next 50 weeks, except it`s pricecut? =))

Gran Turismo 3 - 1,06 mln. in 3 weeks with around 4 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Gran Turismo 4 - 1,16 mln. with 18 mln. PS2 on the launch.

Final Fantasy X - around 2 mln. with 5 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Final Fantasy X-2 - 2.4 mln. with 12 mln. PS2 on the launch.

 

1.8 mln. PS3 today(2008.01.17) in Japan. Now(2009.04.30) 3.16 mln. PS3 were sold in Japan.
PS3 will reach 4 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 25k.

PS3 may reach 5 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 50k.
PS2 2001 vs PS3 2008 sales numbers =) + New games released in Japan by 2009 that passed 100k so far
