Forums - Gaming - Soul Calibur IV announced on 360 and PS3 not on Wii in 2008

They will do that move only if the 360/PS3 version sells a lot, they don't want to put money on projects that won't sell or make good profits. They will put the money where they can make more money, that is what I think.

"Then they stick with making cheaper, lesser versions of their series for the Wii because they are already selling and keep pushing the tech on 360 and PS3 using the money from the Wii versions to finance their bigger projects."

Yeah, that makes sense[/sarcasm]

Makes perfect sense if the cheaply made Wii games are selling, they have more money to spend on the games they are making for the other two consoles that cost more, how does that not make sense?

OR, they could re-invest the money from 1 cheap selling Wii game into 3 cheap selling Wii games, and triple the profits. Then, re-invest into 9 cheap selling Wii games, and make more money. Then, they can invest into 3 quality selling Wii games, instead of 1 quality selling PS3/360 game.

IF they make money on the Wii, why not keep working on it? That is what does not make sense to me.

Edit: I am using your logic, seeing as I dont believe they will use the Wii merely to fund their projects. If they needed to do that, are they doubting how well they will sell? If so, why take the risk?

However, who is to say that we NEED such a big jump this gen? The Wii did a small jump, the PS3/360 made HUGE Leaps. Developers may be pushing for the graphical jump, but only because MS/Sony are pushing. Are you predicting that the graphics next-gen will be five times what we see now?

Can't predict that too far away. The more the Wii is a success the less likely that is though... I think.

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!

And, is that bad? Do we need another leap in graphics, accompanied with another leap in price?

Can't say if it will be another big leap, can't predict where technology will be, but probably it will be going really far really quick, I doubt there will be a big jump in price also the PS3's jump was because of the Blu Ray player not the power of the console.

No Soul Calibur not on the Wii is sad Namco is leaving money on the table.....again

Well the Wii is getting it's own exclusive Soul Calibur game so what's the problem?  Why would anyone want a watered down port of a game on their system?

I know that, and I cant predict either. But you never know what Sony/MS might want next time around. MY PREDICTION: Same graphics, smaller design, cheap. No graphics improvement. That is just me, though. Personaly, I am not looking forward to more realistic than what is available now.

I said the same thing on the 3rd post. Its like no one listens...

Edit: NVM, I read the second sentence. I said the same thing without having to bash a game. I guess I was too neutral.

I hope this means each get character exclusives like on SC2. on 360 Master Cheif and on PS3 Kratos
