What direction would you take your favorite (or least favorite) franchise.

I would like to see a Zelda RPG, maybe not turn based, but alot like Knights Of The Republic, with 1000's of NPC's a fully explorable world, where everybody had something to say, and extremly immersive.

So what genre would you take any franchise too?

I'd be curious to see how Resident Evil would work as a FPS. Not sure it would have the right atmosphere though.
Other than that, I'd like, say, Metroid, to take a horror-survival approach. Maybe that would finally make me like the series.
