Killer Instinct was a technically innovative arcade beat-em up and arguably the SNES' best 2D beat-em-up back in the day when Rare and Nintendo closely held hands, it's only real competition was Mortal Kombat or Street Fighter. KI was above both of those though in terms of visuals, animation, moves, combos and all out brutality!
