Atari 2600...Tanks I believe was the name of the game. The tank battle game. One reason I really like Wii Play.

The game you are thinking about is Combat.

The first game I've ever played was Pac-Man in the arcade. I was in the arcade a lot. But my first system was an Atari 2600, with guess what, Pac-Man and Combat.

That was a fun game, I think every system had a tank type game, I know the odyssey did, Caleco  and Atari, the graphics were so plain, but so much fun

i'm not sure what really was first...

I remember tree things: I played Donkey Kong Country on the SNES of my sister's godfather, I played Super Mario Land on the GB of a friend and I played some games on the NES (Mario Bros 3, Zelda II and a fighting game, can't remember the name but it was great) with another friend living next door.

As I said, I don't remember what was the first thing of these three, it happened all around the time when I was five or six (i.e. 93 or 94, all games were already out by then so that doesn't help me to find out either.)

But at least I know what my first console and game was. I got my GB in autumn 1994 with Wario Land and I loved that game. The funny thing was, we went to Italy for two weeks and of course took the GB along. When I reached the first boss, I didn't understand how to beat him and neither did my parents, so we thought that the game was already finished!

Soon after that, I received a SNES because a friend of my parents didn't want it anymore. I played DK Country all the time starting in that moment.

Currently Playing: Skies of Arcadia Legends (GC), Dragon Quest IV (DS)

Last Game beaten: The Rub Rabbits(DS)

I was an avid reader of Electronic Games magazine starting around 1982, so I was anxious to actually get involved with a console, but my paper route income went the way of the computer at the time (a TRS-80 Model I followed by a TRS-80 Color Computer) thanks to parental subsidies favoring that route.

The first true videogame console I actually owned was a Mattel Intellivision II, bought at a rummage sale with a handful of games in the summer of 1985 if memory serves. There were still a number of late-release titles available for sale at local video rental shops and a decrepit department store that was on its last legs. I was hooked at that point -- a year or so later I bought an NES shortly after it debuted in the states, and I didn't actually get back to the Atari 2600 and its generational peers until the early 90's.

My most vivid memory of the Intellivision at first blush was the incredibly buggy Parker Brothers Frogger cartridge that came with it -- the instructions actually said something to the effect of, "If the screen goes black, just hit the Reset button." And it rarely survived more than five minutes of play without going black!

Ahhh, those were the days.

Spectrum..played Jet Set Willy, Cookie and Jet Pac all days. Don't remember what year but maybe 1984-85 or so

My very first experience in gaming (which I don't remember but my parents told me about) was hitting the reset button on my parents' Odyssey2 while they were in the middle of a game. I have no idea which game it was. I was probably one year old.

Buy it and pray to the gods of Sigs: Naznatips!

I know it may be shameful compared to all of you, my first console was the PS1 and the first game that I played (on my own console) was FIFA 98. This was only 6 months before PS2 launch when I got one 2 months later (take into account my mum bought it for me with me completely ignorant being only 7) and only since playing SSX on my PS2 did I really start getting into gaming, and I've only really been a proper "hardcore"gamer for the last year, playing at least 10 hours a week (take into account that I have school all weak, and am too busy to play during the week)
