All these elimination games got me thinking, people like to vote on things (see the Everybody Votes channel on the Wii as well).  Why not have a poll of the week on the site?  Stick it right below the User Control Panel on the left.  You can only vote if you're registered on the forums, so people can't just spam vote.

Obviously we can't ask silly questions like Which Console Is The Best, we need to come up with something much more interesting than that.  But I think it would be interesting to get the community's opinion on a lot of more subtle questions.  Thought I'd throw it out there.

First attempt at a POTW question:

How much have you spent on video games, game accessories, game consoles, or computer hardware for gaming in the last year? (Six months?  That wouldn't include the Wii or PS3 launches, though.)

This year was stagnant for me, so I spent less than $250 (kept playing old PS2 games and the whole N64 library on Emulator).

What colour is your DS Lite? (ice blue, navy, black, white, pink, only got a phat, I aint no kiddie ds owner!)
How many hours do you spend last week gaming? (20)
Which have you spent more money on in the last week? (games, gaming accessories, food, clothing, travel)

hmmm that's just a couple of things off the top of my head, I'm sure other people can come up with better stuff.

I'be also seen it done on other forums aswell, where you can do a poll at the top of the thread aswell, so if your thread is a question, the poll can tell users the opinions of people on the site.

in last 6 months I spent $1760 on games and such, but on electronic toys all together... $5040... I should actually include at least half on my TV in the gaming part b/c they is no way in hell I would have bought an HDTV (yet)

 Plus, I've got a neat one:

"How many hours a week do you spend on game related forums and websites?"

then compare it to the one about how many hours you play games ;)
