I got confused by this as well some time ago. Turns out:

Starforce = evil
Stardock = saints

SD fans get kinda offended when you mix the two up. =P

well, let's see what they get, right now there are a few games, I'd say it's currently Exclusives driven :P just like Gamersgate & Paradox

Perhaps because its only launched 2 days ago but no ones going to jump unless theres a clearer reason too.

There are several advantages (and disadvantages). The biggest advantage however is that when you buy a game on Impulse, if you pay $5 more they will send you a retail copy of the game!

I don't really see any advantage for me to use this over Steam...no thanks.

Also, I think Steam already has those developers as well, like Epic and Gas Powered Games.

I bet the servers will suck as well.

Perhaps this will drive Valve to create more awesome things for Steam.

Stardock also published Sins of a Solar Empire. Their previous download service was not very good, but it did get the job done.

Or I could go to a local store and not spend the extra $5.  At that point this is no different from shopping online and totally defeats the purpose of digital copy.

Eitherway they need something revolutionary to steal customers from Steam / D2D which have established a fairly good reputation for digital downloads.  Steam is simply very easy and nice, and D2D while I've never used it seems well known and has a decent line-up of new and popular games.

 



crappy old school NES games are more entertaining than next-gen games.
