if by calling me "messed up" you mean believes in equality and freedom for everyone...then i suppose you are correct. And since you call me a "rightest reactionary" i gather those arent something you associate with the left.

 

I don't think his intentions are against the story or you being against it. However, your title is a little aggresive and shows, possibly, your true insight into religion. i.e. Muslims/islam are all bad and so on...

i dont see how it reflects my actual thoughts on islam. it isnt like i was talking about mohammed forcibly converting people.

there are countless cases of converts to other religions being killed or people forcibly converted to islam throughout the muslim world. this happens to be another case, so its more of what happens.

thats a pretty heartless and ignorant thing to say. these christians who are being murdered had nothing to do with what happened all those years ago.

Y'know currently there is a largely Christian persecution of Muslims in the west - not state run but an obvious discrimination towards Arabic looking people.

Among idiots. Not like... the general population.

There are racists everywhere in the world though.

The problems come when it's state sanctioned or a majority of thinking.

yet...its nice how they are allowed to practice their religion and wont be arrested for simply being a muslim, isnt it?

bigotry by individuals cannot be compared to systemic persecution

 i would go and ask some of these christians who were persecuted if they had ever done that...the thing is...most of them are dead or in jail.

This is one of the few times that you will see me agree with you in any way - state ordered persecution of people for their religious beliefs is wrong. However Christian states have hardly been blame free in the past, ever since the time of Constantine until a couple of hundred years ago Christian states were extremely bad for persecution of other religions and even persecutions of nearly the same religions (how many wars were there between protestants and catholics?).

The Islamic states will eventually mature and adopt secular laws that do not allow the state to persecute peopel of other religions - you will probably see this happen within the next fifty years.
