OnTopic: It depends what you mean by "actiony". If your friend thinks that there isn't enough stealth elements, then I's say no. If your friend thinks that there's too much action in general, then he's playing the wrong game/series.

No, although it can be all action if you wish. Equally, it can be all stealth if you wish. The only way it would be 'too actiony' is if you don't like action, but go all out for action anyway, but then you'd be a bit dim.
I kind've agree. I haven't felt the need to use the box (or the barrel) once.
It's still great fun, though, even if it's not always as stealthy as past games.
