About the argument at hand, I'm sure a cultivated guy like you is aware of the difficulty of changing stablished brand perceptions. ps3 had the "absurdly expensive" tag on it for almost a year and it wasn't until the christmas season when customers started cruising shops that they were finally made aware that the ps3 wasn't prohibitely expensive anymore. Specifically about uncharted, it's initial sales weren't stellar at all - which is not what happens with hardware-driving software: halo 3 moved hardware, it was a smash hit since day one; mgs4 is moving hardware, it's sales are spectacular. Uncharted sales have achieved acceptable numbers through legs, rather.

You have apperently a problem with objectivity. Those are basicly the same situations. Someone makes unreasonable, unbased statment (starcraft or PS3 fans last year) and is being bashed by others for this. Reasonable and objetive opinion could be for example "You shouldn't bash someone for prediction, it's just an opinion" or "This statement is unreasonable so bashing is justified".

But no. Even if those are the same situations you (becouse of your personal opinion, there is no doubt about it) find a way to critize bashing in only one situation.
There is of course an opposite argument to your's, that is just as (in)valid:
"Xbox fans are truly hilarious. They spent the whole two last years bashing Sony fans for their domination predictions and now they have the nerve to predict 360 domination just as the PS3 fans did".

I've seen that kind of wrong argumentation many times in political debetas. If you want to say anything reasonable you must show why one situation is different than another.
