Price drops? Maybe. But MS is focused on profit now, so I don't know about that.

Supply Constraint? Bull-shit. False. There is no "periodic region-specific supply issues". I mean, let's think about it. They sure as hell aren't in Japan, and Others, and America's sales have been healthy, and the same as of late. If MS isn't saying supply issues, why are you?

I also didn't know that release dates could push a console.

And Too human...

Well, I won't get into that. But a game in development for ten years across multiple platforms, I don't think that it'll turn out too well...

And you neglect a few thing in your post, such as, if Sony actually replenishes supply of the 80 gig, which will carry sales much more than just the game itself. And also, MS and Sony are at about the same position to price cut. If one does it, the other one will follow suit.

Getaway 3, Eight Days and Red Alert 3.

Xbox 360 RPG's have sold great.  

Lost Odyssey, Mass Effect, Oblivion etc......

C'mon crazzy, you've been crawling this site long enough to know that besides japan, games do not drive demand for hd consoles - only price cuts do. The sole exceptions have been halo 3 and mgs4 - and we don't know yet what kind of after-effect mgs4 will have, so even that is still not for granted.

Gran Turismo 3 - 1,06 mln. in 3 weeks with around 4 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Gran Turismo 4 - 1,16 mln. with 18 mln. PS2 on the launch.

Final Fantasy X - around 2 mln. with 5 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Final Fantasy X-2 - 2.4 mln. with 12 mln. PS2 on the launch.

 

1.8 mln. PS3 today(2008.01.17) in Japan. Now(2009.04.30) 3.16 mln. PS3 were sold in Japan.
PS3 will reach 4 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 25k.

PS3 may reach 5 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 50k.
PS2 2001 vs PS3 2008 sales numbers =) + New games released in Japan by 2009 that passed 100k so far

A 360 price-cut in Europe a few months ago sure went a long way in helping the 360 to start outselling the PS3 once again in the Other grouping, didn't it?

Fail. Ps3 started to sell good when sony slashed 1/3rd of the price bringing down the barrier of entry to 400$. I guess you do not read the sales numbers at all, that explains a lot of things. About fanboys, I'm not the guy making snide remarks at "the other console" exclusive games on that console forum - and I'm neither the guy who has been banned several times for blind fanboyism, insane posting and a total disregard for rational discourse. Hint: it was you.

The Wii just sits and looks as the ps3 and 360 duke it out.



Damn things have changed since 2009 began. Here are my new visions for the end of the generation.

 

Wii: 135 mil

Ps3: 85 mil

360: 60 mil
