I'm not trying to force my predictions on people. But I dont understand why I'm the only one that can see a problem for Sony?. Sony (maybe not the public) but Sony certainly thought MGS4 would take PS3 sales to new heights. But thats not really happening. R2 and LBP may be good games but system sellers?. I think they will sell fairly well but mainly to already PS3 owners. And anyone who underestimates Square enix JRPG sales in Japan may have a shock. Any PS3 owner can quote my sig if I'm wrong in February. But be damn certain now that I'll be quoting it if I'm right. And I am 80% confident.

Oh, I see, so you've gone into the future and have seen the first week hardware sales, as well as the sales for the next month, and the long term effects of the reinstated 80GB bundle?

As in go buy us some coffee.

Oh, remember the thread I made where I said I was getting a 360 and a lot of titles to go along with it?...Well, I did it, and I´ve been playing Mass Effect a lot...a question...I´ve seen the green light on the 360 controller sometimes flashing in all 4 directions....is that the controller´s warning about the battery starting to go low?

Yeah, when the ring of green on the controller starts to spin, it means your running low.

Do you like Mass Effect? Tell me where your up too? (black out the spoilers)

What an experience Mass Effect was. The ending was just so good, but so nasty at the same time. It really makes you wanna play number 2.

This thread is pretty sad, it's like what MS did when they had "supply issues" early this year.

We're going to lose Jan, and Feb, but my March our supply will be in order.

Oh well, at least the PS3 can have some victories this year. If they win June and July, all they need to do is win one more month, then they'll have beaten 360 in it's home territory 1/2 the year, something they didn't accomplish at all last year.

This is a good point.

The 360 has had a better library all along, and still has been loosing. Why would making it even better help? I think we have discovered that the library is not the problem.

Fixing what's not broke, is not a fix at all.

I think the two major impediments to the game library bringing about a resolute Xbox 360 victory over PS3 were Rrod and Sony brandname.

Next generation will be the first time in a long time Sony has had to fight a battle without an unbeatable brandname behind them.

Make no mistake.  On the business model Sony used this generation, the PS3 would not have survived were it not for the Playstation brand.

Hey lets just leave it now. I hate arguing about my favourite hobby. I just finished God Of War 2 people, pretty awesome game. I'm gonna get NG2 tommorow as GOW2 has got me in the mood.

MGS has never even come close to GTA or Halo. So why did you think it would this time around?
BECAUSE MGS4 is a Game Of This GENERATION. Best Game To Date!
Must PLAY for ALL.
Another Level of Gaming.

Blah, MGS4 looks boring. Do I really have to play it? :(

well you know what take it anyway you want PS3 loses and 360 loses there is only one winner it's Wii and it won't change... it might slow down end of gen because casual don't buy the same way we do...

now even if PS 3 ends 2nd this gen they still lose.... there is absolutely no way they'll turn more profite than MS and sell more game than on 360.... PS3 will be the big loser than gen no matter what....

ok kids keep arguing about nothing :P

So if MS cuts the price in August and introduces a new sku it will increase sales. That seems like an obvious statement.

Sony will match any MS price cut within 3 months if it starts to impact sales. If an MS pricecut doesn't impact PS3 sales, then it would be time to work on the Xbox 720 because it would be over for this generation.

Thanks for the input, Jeff.

Those go hand in hand. RRoD from MS effects there brand name (and inadvertently improved Sony's).

Being that we live in a world where thousands of MS consoles break every month, I don't think those two things are going to change in MS's favor any time soon. Especially not by August.

So, we have agreed on what the problem is, probably agree that in three months 360's will still have RRoD, and Sony's brand name will be the same (probably a little better with MGS4 and E3).

Do we agree that if these will still be a constant in August, no "ownege" will happen?
