Forums - Gaming - You think the Sega Saturn hardware could be figured out now?

The Sega Saturn was extremely difficult to make games for back in the mid-90s and some even called it development hell. But now, like 13 years later and hardware as advanced as the PS3, I'd imagine that people could easily program the Saturn's hardware by now. However, I'm not sure that's true until someone actually tries it... 1 Dreamcast game is released a year, so somebody may do it eventually...but I doubt it.

So, you think the Saturn be harnessed for its full potential now?

yea, the saturn was one of the very first dual-processor systems and ofcourse the first console with such a system, that's the main reason why developers found it very difficult to programm for it, but nowadays multi-thread programming slowly becomes the standard, so they should be able to use the saturns architecture much better than before
