It might have to do with the Shin Megami Tensei game that was announced in... 2005.

Of which we've heard nothing about since it was announced.

Maybe they want to see if it's worth it to go Multi-plat for that game... or another 360 game.

Seems the most likely option to me.

I thought the SMT game was Persona 4, originally announed for the ps3 then moved to the ps2?

I'm probably wrong, though, lol.

Nope. The SMT game was never given a title. Which makes me think it wasn't going to be a Persona game... cause they would of just said Persona 4. (To my knowledge anyway)

I think they have not decided yet what game it will be, probably most of their attention at the moment is at Persona 4.  I am really waiting what their next game will be considering I almost love all their games..Digital devil saga, Persona, Devil Summoner etc;..

Oh boy you only make me more nervous about it =p..

Also, wow I failed at writing he topic name. "raing" and"Atlus's". I'm suprised nobody has made fun of it yet.

Erm, you mistyped stuff in the thread title.

 Lol?

Back on topic, I'm going to guess that they're feeling pretty good about the Wii's userbase, since they've done alright for themselves on the system so far (exception: Baroque, which bombed everywhere on both platforms).

Perhaps Atlus thinks that the Wii currently doesn't offers a significant advantage over the PS2. This could be for any number of reasons; less buttons on the Wii mote being a hinderance in playability, the target audience for the Wii not including enough JRPG fans, or perhaps they feel that any game they could make for the Wii would be nearly the same on the PS2 which has 6 times the audience base.

Less buttons being a hinderance in playability? How many RPGs have you played? You could play most modern RPGs with a NES controller. (Atleast ones like the Shin Megami series.)

Well it is worrysome.  I mean... it's a little odd for a project to go 2 and a half years without even being given a name.

I think the game was either canceled or given the "FF13" treatment... on hold till the userbase develops... hence why a port to 360 would be useful.

They just crawled up to the league of some of the more major developers, the last thing they could afford is to have a big budget bomb... so they've got to be really carefull.
