Forums - Nintendo - Crystal Bearers cancelled?

I'm super hyped about the FFCC so I've been keeping track of what these guys have to say about it.

Naruma I believe is the guys name, said it's still in the works after GDC this year, and that it takes time to make this kind of game, you can catch tidbits off FFCC:CB's progress by checking out developer notes for the other recent FFCC, the DS version has it's own site you can get directed to it from wikipedia and there you can catch some up to date info on Crystal Baerers.

I'm Unamerica and you can too.

I wouldn't be too worried. Square has a thing for announcing games 2-3 years before release.

This game went from being kiddy crap,to being a game that would finally start being normal using an old graphics engine that sucked ass and showed everyone that they couldn't even get high end GC graphics on the Wii.
This coupled with the fact that the games direction might have changed no less than 2 times from Nov to Jan. as well as now getting Crystal Tools to work so they can finally get graphics that could be finally considered above GC on the Wii.

SE is in shit.We have no idea how this game will be when it's out.
This game might be canceled with a replacement on the way which would than mean that the new game would have been in planning and not even developed yet.

For SE fans on the Wii there is no worry,a big game will be released even if it isn't this one.

Since most people didn't even bother to do proper research on Nintendo I'll let you in on something that has third parties scared shitless in Japan.

Back in 2005 Nintendo in the sly way that they hint things when interpreted correctly went on to say that if big third parties don't put their big franchises on their system their franchises might very well die like those before them when the next gen comes out.

I personally hate SE and hope that FFXIII stays on the PS3/HD consoles while other smaller third parties spam RPGs on the Wii in response.
SE has a lot of other content based on the new FF universe in other media.
Disrupt one and everything will soon begin to crumble. No brand power can survive this.

FF:CC on GC actually has very good graphics, what killed it was that in order to enjoy it totally, you need al least one friend and two GBA's, each with GC-GBA cable. The single player mode is bellow a common SE standard.

When Crystal Bearers was announced, it was a direct sequel, but in the development process they realized they had to change and start from scratch all over again. It happens to many projects (Too human comes to mind). And now they are changing again.

One reason could be the they didn't think the Wii will be successful and will have a small number of RPGs like the GC, but thgey had to change the perspective from many factors inlcuding:

-Wii increasing installed base.

-Nintendo buying Monolith Soft.

This is exactly what I was thinking.

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

Hopefully we get some more info at the E3 or the TGS.

Crystal Bearers for GC in the eyes of SE was without a doubt a kiddy game and a big slap to GC owners.

When they decided to finally do the game properly on the DS it was met with hate with only the real hardcore CC fans defending it.The reality is that no matter how much you polish shit it will still be shit.

This is when they realized that the new CC had to have a direction radically different from its predecessors and the new teenage, rugged hero appeared.Had the Wii not been so successful I can assure you that the game would have been released as originally intended.

FFCC had a wide appeal, what killed it was the HW requirements, at least that was the case in the US - acceptance age range was from 12 - 70 on average gamers who played the game.

Back then most people saw it and thought "multiplayer final fantasy."

speaking of great RPG's Persona3 F is friggin amazing!

Boom Blox and Zack and Wiki were targetted to kids despite being games with wide appeal.

It's also the reason why the games did horribly when you consider the caliber of these games.

FF:CC on GC is no exception to this.Plus Carnival Games was built as shovelware and the game turned out successful with the devs now wondering what the hell players like about it.

FF:CC was never considered by SE to be anything but an alternate money outlet when it was first released.

Well that's bullshit considering that Crystal Bearers was "rugged" for the longest time and that RoF on the DS is far from "shit." I also don't really see what's 'kiddy' about the original CC except for maybe its overly simplistic combat, which had little to do with age groups.

That said, people need to stop making these threads every other day. It's called a blackout and SE practics it regularly. You just need to accept the fact that you're not going to get pics and videos every week when a game is under a BLACKOUT. Know this and play something else until they're ready to show it.

FFCC was kiddy? Wow. What parts of it were kiddy? It seems now fantasy = kiddy.

Why don't you ask SE?

They're the ones who implied it.It's not like I'm making this shit up.
