Forums - Sony Discussion - Can you tell me the pros and cons of PSP?

^^thanks. that's very helpful.
My only concerns are battery life and size.
any rumors of price cut?
I'm assuming it has wifi so searching the net is free and no voice recorder.

Pro: A very good paperweight.

In all honesty, I haven't picked my PSP up in like a week or two. The only major game I play on it is Monster Hunter.

But it looks nice.

Well the DS has a lot more games than the PSP so i would definitely recommend that over PSP. The batteries last longer on DS as well & it has a touch screen which is very intuitive & changes the way ppl play video games.

But, if u already have a DS & want another handheld, PSP is alright. U mentioned u bought golf clubs so u might like hot shots golf for psp. I really like the game and it's a great pass time while on the bus/subway. But if u've ever played hot shots before and are looking for a new experience, forget about it, it's pretty much exactly the same game.

Size isn't bad IMO, but it gets bigger if you buy a case to protect that big beautiful screen.

My advice to fanboys: Brag about stuff that's true, not about stuff that's false. Predict stuff that's likely, not stuff that's unlikely. You will be happier, and we will be happier.

I have the most epic death scene ever in VGChartz Mafia.  Thanks WordsofWisdom!

I've been doing a bit of research, as I'm getting one in August.

Great PSP Games:

God of War: Chains of Olympus

Daxter

Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters

Killzone: Liberation

Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops

Patapon

Loco Roco

Jeane D'Arc

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII

Archer Maclean's Mercury

Lumines

Burnout: Legends

Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection

Wipeout: Pure

 Pursuit Force

SOCOM Navy SEALS: Tactical Strike

Great Features:

 - Big, bright, high resolution screen
 - WiFi
 - Great media player
 - Customisable themes
 - Memory Stick support for game demos, portable porn, etc.
 - If you ever do get a PS3, remote play means that you can play games off the PS3 on the PSP, as well as watch
videos (including Blu-ray films), listen to your music, etc.
 - New PS Store allows you to actually download PSP games at a cheap price.
 - PS Store allows you to download PS1 games that you can play on it.
 - Skype Support
 - GoPlay, goCam, goNavigate (or what have ya) extend the features of the PSP.

Cons:

 - Thanks to piracy, the PSP has seen most of the big gamest that it ever will.
 - Still quite expensive for a handheld console.
 - UMD moves kinda failed
 - Battery life very short for a handheld console.
 - Even know the new version of the PSP is a great improvement, it's still rather large for a handheld. Baggy trousers
are a must.

I'm surprised that nobody has mentioned the screen's penchant for ghosting (that is, unintentional trailing of images as they move). It's seriously worse than the original Game Boy on some games.
