10 was good too. I would just call 8 and 12 mediocre. 7 overrated but decent, and everything else good.

It's funny too.... the Wiimote fits Ogre Battle better then controls did and the graphics are perfect for Ogre Battles style. So many more plot lines left unfinished too. It's a shame for sure. The Ogre games are consistantly in my "favorite games" lists.

Sir, our differences in opinion concerning the quality of FFXII notwithstanding, you are a gentleman and a scholar, and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter.
My favorite is by far FF6. Most others I like, except for:
FF1:step BATTLE step step BATTLE step BATTLE someone remind me...what was I doing?
FF Tactics Advance:the battles were excruciatingly slow. I'm too used to the quick-paced battles of Fire Emblem (fight scenes turned off) and Disgaea.
FF12: The characters were bland and many were strangely similar to those in Skies of Arcadia. The battle system was okay, but not enough to keep me playing without an interesting story. Tetris has more interesting story than FF12.
I have yet to play FF8-11 and 5. (don't plan on playing 11)
I like Final Fantasy VIII the most followed very closely by Final Fantasy IX.
I like VIII the most because of it's design, graphics, characters, music and story. They are all to my liking. I liked all the same things in IX, I just liked everything in VIII better.
(I have not played 1-2-3, well i did play mystic quest on snes, but dunno which one that is, didn't play CrystalCronicles ones and DS versions).
Best (no question in my mind)
FF VI
then
IV
FF Adventure -- (GB but in japan it was named after the secret of mana series =) )
FF V -- (played a fan translation of the SNES one, loved the jobs system)
FF VII -- (I liked it but i think the 3D trend did not do good to the series)
FF Legend 3 -- (had a job system too... or was it one of the other 2, I forgot)
FF XII -- I thought the combat system was refreshing, didn't finish the game yet (about 20 hours in i think)
Then put in a bulk the other 2 gb titles, the 8 9
FF Tactics GBA -- didn't feel anything special there
FF X -- felt a kind of disconnection from the story...
Last:
FF Mystic Quest -- felt like a NES port on SNES with no improvement.... playing it after FF IV was a bad idea :p
OoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoO
Right now I like FF9 the most, but I just recently started playing it. I also played FF12 though, and also 2, and 3.
