Well I honestly don't know what to say but this. Final Fantasy is "The" RPG alot of people know and the one they care about. Alot of gamers who play FF don't bother with other JRPGS. It's like this there are 3 series of RPGS on consoles that attract attention not only from RPG fans but from gamers in general and casual gamers as we seem to like calling them. They are FF, Kingdom Hearts, and Pokemon. Once you get past those everythings divided up. You have hardcore RPG players, Fans of a certain series that won't bother with other RPGS and fans of particular RPG types such as Strategy, Action, etc. So I guess the simple answer is the RPG genre is just like the rest of the market sometimes good games get overlooked.



Boycotting the following:

1. Yoshi: He ate my car and spit out a toaster.

2. Igglybuff: Totally false advertisement. You can have as many as you like they don't buff nothing.

3. the Terms Hardcore/Softcore... We're talking Video Games. Not Porn.

4. The term Casual as relates to Gamers: We make them sound like outsider's that happen to play games.  If that were the case they'd own a PS3.

5. Donuts.... Beacause I drink Beer...... and the biggest fan of Donuts hates Beer.

6. Boycotts: Their so lame.

exactly........in the past few days I've realized I'm actually not a hardcore JRPG fan.

I have always been FF, Pokemon & DQ..

 I am not a hardcore JRPG fan though I enjoy the ones I play.

It's basically Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts with a small dose of Star Ocean.  I also play Lost Odyssey.

I like JRPGs. Are there any on the PC though? I've been looking for them and struggling to find any.

Sad that a lot of RPG gamers only play FF, KH or Pokemon;

I am playing now the Shin Megami Tensei serie and damned it is so good I feel sad that so many PS2 owners never gave it a chance.

 In my case, I consider myself a hardcore JRPG fan. My fav series are FF and the Shin Megami Tensei series. I've also played multiple other titles and anything S-E (though some of their games have been disappointing). I realize that I'm a niche kind of gamer thats why I found it odd that everyone was suddenly on the same boat.

I consider myself a somewhat hardcore rpg fan. But, hardcore jrpg fans do not make up the majority of the population thats why it does not have as large of sales numbers as other genera. Now, to provide you with my rpg background....
I have played Lunar 1 and 2, I have played all the suikodens except 4 and gotten all 108 stars, I have played every ff except I and II, I have played DQ 8, persona (just the first), chrono trigger, i have played all of .hack gu, and have played alot of the "snes" rpgs (secret of many + evermore, secret of mana 2, bahamut lagoon, earthbound)

Consoles Owned: NES, SNES, N64, PS1, PS2, Wii, Xbox 360, Game Boy, DS

 You seem to have skipped many excellent games in the PS generation. no mention of Xenogears, vagrant Story, Parasite Eve, Ar Tonelico, SMT anything, Xenosaga, etc. You seem to be more in tune with the SNES RPG arena which I skipped lol
