Ok so guys for our first game how shall we map out the platforming?


I say we start very simply. A few platforms, a couple of items to collect and maybe a few enemies to avoid.
Once we have this running we could expand it to include peoples ideas.

Sure. Id' suggest downloading Fruity Loops to start off with. I'll PM you guys the link so y'all can start messing around with it. I haven't tried it yet (MGS4's taking up all my time right now), but I hear it's great.

@SSJ. So you don't think a forum is a good idea then?
It would allow more organization, greater depth of discussion on singular aspects of the game and for individual projects to be clearly seperated. I just feel it would be easier to do this on a forum than on a single topic.

oh I wont stop you. It would be a good idea, maybe we should just use the dead section 8 forums if that exists. lol
na a dedicated forums would work. I just dont have a second web server to host another forums. My web server hosts the mod forums. =P

Thats why I think we should use Invision =P.
They let you make a forum for pretty much free, all you have to deal with is a couple of ads. Well at least they did a couple of years ago - I haven't made one in ages.

I like that idea, lets make and old school plataformer, with one or two levels to start with it...
It's just a simple prototype. It isn't meant to be perfect, just a very simple, limited course.
It does need more-in-depth analysis though. But right now, I am just thinking of what to do with the game.

Just found this thread. If you need help with C and shaders I can probably help out. I've got a few tools (game engines/3d modellers ) which may come in handy. Should set up a wiki for contribs/outlines/artwork. I'll set one up later (after another act of MGS4) and post the details.
