Forums - Sony - What would u do if PSN cost $$$?

@ All those who would turn to PC gaming you would pay more anyhow (unless you have paid for a pC and all parts graphics cards and what not already) so 5 bucks a month is a lot easier then getting a system to play games like crysis and UT4 and gears of war. and a lot less easier to hook up... one click on PSN...

£40 a year for online, I doubt it. I would probably just get the 3 month cards for the holiday season for my yearly online gaming fix, but I am mostly a SP gamer

if they start charging, id pay, but complain to sony, and spend more time on my PC

But i don't need a really good computer to play CoD4 online or UT3, 8800Gt and another 1gb of ram would be fine for me.  With 2gb ram and an 8800Gt i could play so many games at nice settings, pick up about 10  RTS/FPS games and i'll be fine for a long time.

The only reason why Sony doesn't already charge for the PSN is b/c they don't have enough consoles sold WW to really do a whole lot w/ paid-for services.

So, free PSN is kind of like a price-cut.

Heck, Sony has even said that eventually they will be charging for the PSN os get ready for it.

Because it has nothing to do with the amount of money.  I am not about to pay for a service I have had for years for free, especially when I can get superior online for free on PC.  It just sets a bad precedent.

If charging for the PSN makes business sense, then why wouldn't they do it?

Sony have not ever said that they will be charging for it, and M$ managed to start with non free online from the beginning, so why it will not acheive anything when it has 13m consoles in homes is just a ridiculous statement.

I know dude, it is $5 dollars. My fucking rent is $950 dollars. I just won't drive home for lunch one day.

$950/£500 your kidding arnt you?

my total morgage a month is $310/£170

mortgage is £170 !!!! thats a tiny mortgage...

Fact is Sony couldnt charge for their online service yet... it isnt worth it, if it was worth it then most would pay i believe. The 360 live service is well worth it . When my PS3 arrives and if the live service is good enough and Sony decide to charge... I would pay for that too.

no online service is worth £5 a month, PC gaming has all the features of live+more and is free, i pay out of neccesity not becuase its worth it, as it isnt.

Sony would prefer it if you did do that.

I wouldn't pay, not at all. I would try my best to find a bypass around it, and if I can't, I'd buy a Wii.

But, that won't happen, it's the reason why Sony released Quore... so they wouldn't have to do that.
