I must have missed all the whites protesting when GTA SA's black protagonist was mowing caucasions down by the hundreds.

If anyones racist it's the ones claiming that RE5 is.

Now that's just silly.

People weren't saying that it's racist because it's a person of one race killing another race.

People are saying it's racist because was a person of one race killing a bunch of people of another race when the race of the guy killing the second peoples race was the same race that killed, enslaved and generally destroyed the continent of the 2nd guys race.

To the point of where the 2nd race still gets a raw deal in many situations compared to the first race even in industralized countrys where people in authority like the police often tend to be a bit trigger happy when it comes to people of the second race.

Now if white people had gone through the same thing somewhere else in the world... then you'd have more of a point.

Whether they are right or wrong is up for arguement... calling them racist is just stupid.

Also San Andreas was seem as promoting a stereotype about black people... and i'm sure San Andreas wasn't full of just white people.

That's irrelevant. Decades have passed since those incidence and most of that generation is no longer even alive and they're not the ones protesting this game. There's no connection between this game or historic events either. You cannot draw some arbritary line between fictional violence in one game and history. Re5 is set in Africa, now correct me if I'm wrong but there aren't many white people living in Africa. So should we just disallow artists from creating violent crime stories set in Africa because we might offend someone? I don't think so.

Unless someone is being blatantly damaged by this game it is ridiculous to criticize it as racist. If it was set in Berlin and the enemies were all Jew/black they would have a case but chastizing a game for portraying black natives in a Black continent and a white protoganist as per the context of the storyline is stupid.

Which time-frame would you like? From Arabs/Mongols/Turks and Japanese in this century Europeans have been dominated often in history. Its true that we have been mostly on the giving side since 1800. But seriously outside of the United States blacks have no special status in this regard. The British and French empires had no special preference for black guys but repressed anything from Indish people to Asians. Britain was the only European country using bigger numbers of slaves and they abolished this 1807 hunting American slave ships from 1833. So this heightened sensitivity regarding blacks is a typical US problem. Similar to German sensitivity regarding Jews.

I am not saying that this is a bad thing, being sensitive because of past digressions is necessary. But Americans should often take a step back and perhaps grant a Japanese developer to situate a horror movie in Africa without implying that he is in any way racist when he doesn't want to assemble a multicolored zombie horde in the black continent.

no its not racist. im black and i say so.

its fucking ridiculous that black people make a big deal about there people getting killed, but its okay to shoot down white guys in san andreas.

they still are mad about slavery which was 350 years ago. get over it, every race or religion has gone through something similar. that is the problem with black people today, i have a few black friends and i see it first hand. they blame everything on the white man for things that happend 400 years ago. sorry i went a lil off topic.

its not racist at all, the only people who think it is are the idiots who read papers like the daily fail

No, Capcom is not rascist at all. Games have been killing white zombies for years. The only reason blacks are dying in Resident Evil 5 is because they represent where the location is taking place. I don't see millions of white people I Africa, I see black people.

Being black myself, I have no concern as to if Capcom is racist or if the zombies are black. People need to grow a sack and stop making big deals out of nothing. We can teach about slavery in school to learn about history, but if no one says the game is racist, no one will believe it is, period.

Resident Evil 4 wasn't about killing Hispanics, it was about killing ZOMBIES in a Hispanic land.

Slavery ended in the US in 1865. Legalized discrimnation didn't end in the US until 100+ years later 1970 or so. Apartheid didn't end in South Africa until 1993. Is RE5 racist? No, but I can see why the general public that doesn't play games would jump to such a conclusion.
