Another example regarding sales, the PS3 at a higher entry pricing and months of less sales for many regions including Europe sold 12.85 million in an equal timeframe while the 360 sold 11 million.

Regarding current sales. Last quarter Sony sold 1 million more PS3s than Microsoft sold 360s and the PS3 continues to outsell the 360 worldwide despite some weak 360 to PS3 ports and nearly all popular XBox games including Halo already received 360 sequels.

The video is very well done, but a lot of information is inaccurate, and the information that is true, really is not that important. Also, he deliberately avoided all points of which 360 is superior to the PS3. I mean, if he threw in at least one or two in there, then the entire video would be more believable, and you can't tell me there isn't a single point, like how the Elite has 120 GB over 80 GB of the PS3. It's not important, but because there's already quite a bit on unimportant information already in the video, he could have thrown in some unimportant crap that supports the 360, to make himself seem less of a Sony fan boy. Also, the 360 has been proven many times, to be capable of displaying superior graphics. Everything else is fine. Yes, the PS3 is more powerful. Okay. In fact, the 360's being capable of displaying better graphics, is also unimportant. And the PS3 is more expensive than the 360, so I don't understand the price comparison. And two of those exclusives for PS3 are gone (Getaway and 8 Days). But, the important thing, and the "ONLY"

"ONLY" thing that is important, is games. Nothing else matters. I still have the first Elite I bought, and it never broke down. The 360 has a far stronger library than the PS3 according to the universal media, so unless you say otherwise, you're a fan boy. Yes, the PS3 has kick ass games, but 360 has Mass Effect, Halo 3, Gears of War, BioShock, and many other, strong titles. I am certain the PS3 will eventually come out with better games. I mean, the PS3's catalogue of games in the future looks promising, but right now, I still think the 360 still has the upper hand.

I have been researching my facts, the only thing I really didnt know about was the transfer rates, but the director of the video also quoted some of the wrong material ie price on 80 gig. I figured, why would I want to learn about transfer rates? I mean as long as the game plays, it shouldnt matter. Quite frankly, I am starting to feel like this whole website it full of fanboys who have nothing better to do, but bash other peoples opinions just because they have a preference of a piece of hardware. All I ask is that you please stop taking these threads personally and turn on your ps/wii/60, and have fun...Make piece not war ;)

Well, actually I would have to say that you do NOT appear to have researched the facts or you would have noticed that THE VIDEO ITSELF points out that the $399 price is for the version WITHOUT some of the stuff on the list. i.e. NOT the 80GB version. (Unless he talks about price somewhere other than the "Price" section that I forgot about? In any case it doesn't matter since that IS the part I was referring to in the post you replied to.)

And speaking of "fanboys", I forgot to mention the hilarious part of the video where he shows an ad that has the PS3 between a naked woman's legs as proof it's sexy. At least I assume it's a PS3 ad, I guess your friend could have photoshopped it. We don't have any problem with conflicting opinions (at least most of us); but when you go from simply having an opinion to making assertions of fact that are bullshit or lies, then we have every reason to object. And one purpose of a debate is also to put conflicting opinions against each other and see which one is better supported, so you might be mistaking debate for "bashing" if one of those opinions turns out to be poorly supported.

Still, good sentiment from you at the end there (though you misspelled peace). I don't take it personally; but when I see the truth being misrepresented I do take it seriously.

P.S. I have no idea what you mean by that. What gave you the impression that my feelings were hurt by you or anyone else in this thread?

OK, but then you will have to highlight the PS3's ability to upgrade with much bigger mainstream harddrives as well. IMO a major pro is that every PS3 comes with a harddrive, so it can be used for caching data. IMO important points and developers have also stated the default harddrive is very important to them.

That's technically inaccurate from a hardware specs perspective and IMO important. The most impressive looking games are IMO currently on the PS3 already.

No, not "only" but certainly the most important aspect for a games console. But specs do matter with regard to potentials, this with regard to gaming and features. Not for nothing did the 60GB PS3 with its extra bells and whistles totally outsell the 20 GB PS3 and not for nothing did the 360 Premium totally outsell the 360 Core/Arcade.

I don't agree, despite some minor flaws IMO the overall message stands strong. The 360 includes many hidden costs. For example if you want to take advantage on the 360 most basic features, you'll gonna spend more cash on the 360.

XBox Core/Arcade ($279.99) + 20 GB harddrive ($89.99) + 2 years of XBox Live online play ($100) = 469 dollars, so more expensive than a 40 GB PS3 while providing far less impressive specs, no Blu-Ray drive (a major !!!!), worse raw performance, smaller harddrive, no Wi-Fi, worse ethernet/HDMI connection, cheaper higher latency lower bandwidth shared system RAM, etc.

Exclusives the 360 has lost:  he gives a laundry list of lost 360 exclusives.  I'm sure he didn't leave any out because they didn't "really stand out", but he put in "etc." anyway.

Big 360 games that are out:  "Halo3? PGR, Forza, Bioshock, ME?"
PS3 games that are out:  another laundry list -- about 11 games.

Big 360 games yet to come:  "no more than 2 exclusives that could actually be considered 'good'"

Big PS3 games yet to come:  yet another laundry list, this time about 32 games strong.  AND he says "exclusive projects from" (blah, blah, blah).  You can bet that he won't admit the existence of any 360 exclusive until it's more than a "project".  Then he gives us the ominous "and the list goes on ... (100+)"

In conclusion:  I know you love to talk up the PS3, MikeB, but this is just stupid.  This video is totally indefensible as anything CLOSE to a serious analysis, and I lose respect for you with each post in which you try.

You make a decent point about the high cost of getting a 360 "up to" a feature set comparable to the PS3's (still $100 for wireless, I believe).  But that is YOU, not the video, and just because you agree with his CONCLUSION is no reason to turn a blind eye to the WAY he got there.

I stated in my first post there are a few small inaccuracies and some points lacked depth. What more do you want from me? Overall there are genuine points being brought forward, we are all human beings and some mistakes are to be expected. I think the main reason for doing this video is mainly for entertainment and to hit back at parts of the 360 fanbase with regard to some claims and misconceptions which have been spread around in the past. It's not an in depth technical analysis, rather a collection of bullet points brought forward in an enthusiast youtube video.

I think most viewers know the 360 comes with a controller and an ethernet port (100 MBit on 360, gigabit on PS3).

What I want is for you to acknowledge that in addition to "a few small inaccuracies" the video was composed ENTIRELY of incredibly one-sided information designed to give false impressions.  (360 lost 4 times more exclusives to PS3 than the other way around; 360 has almost nothing left coming down the pipe; etc. etc. ET CETERA!)

If you see this as "entertainment" and consider its wild exaggerations simply a comedic mirror of the wild exaggerations of 360 partisans, then your approving attitude is much more understandable.  But if that is the case then why do you seem to be defending it as a mostly accurate portrayal? 

The controller thing was just to show that the video was maximizing the PS3's bullet points while minimizing the 360's.  I just think that that is another example of this video's obsession with inflating every PS3 positive attribute and every 360 negative one.
