(1)  You now seem to be defending yourself by claiming ignorance.  Well sorry to burst your bubble but if you claim that a video (or anything) is well researched then you are expected to have done enough research yourself to know what the hell you are talking about.

(2)  It's not the factual inaccuracies that make that video hilarious propaganda so much as it is the totally biased and onesided viewpoint.  Case in point:  the data transfer rate comment I pointed out earlier.  For another example look at the comparisons of the 360's positive aspects and the PS3's.  The former has a feature list with comments to the effect that they suck, and leaving off the optional stuff (the price is for the most expensive model, of course); later it gets game lists with only a couple of games on them.  The latter's feature list comes with praising comments and the optional stuff and yet quoting the price of the model that doesn't have it! (with note); and later, game lists of the "kitchen sink" variety.

(3)  That may well be true.  Converts to a cause (360 hate / PS3 love) are often among its most devoted or fanatical followers.

(4)  Would you really?  I hear they're not too hard to find.  Unless you're waiting for your buddy to make one, in which case it'd be a bad idea to hold your breath.  
I have been researching my facts, the only thing I really didnt know about was the transfer rates, but the director of the video also quoted some of the wrong material ie price on 80 gig. I figured, why would I want to learn about transfer rates? I mean as long as the game plays, it shouldnt matter. Quite frankly, I am starting to feel like this whole website it full of fanboys who have nothing better to do, but bash other peoples opinions just because they have a preference of a piece of hardware. All I ask is that you please stop taking these threads personally and turn on your ps/wii/60, and have fun...Make piece not war ;)

Well, actually I would have to say that you do NOT appear to have researched the facts or you would have noticed that THE VIDEO ITSELF points out that the $399 price is for the version WITHOUT some of the stuff on the list. i.e. NOT the 80GB version. (Unless he talks about price somewhere other than the "Price" section that I forgot about? In any case it doesn't matter since that IS the part I was referring to in the post you replied to.)

And speaking of "fanboys", I forgot to mention the hilarious part of the video where he shows an ad that has the PS3 between a naked woman's legs as proof it's sexy. At least I assume it's a PS3 ad, I guess your friend could have photoshopped it. We don't have any problem with conflicting opinions (at least most of us); but when you go from simply having an opinion to making assertions of fact that are bullshit or lies, then we have every reason to object. And one purpose of a debate is also to put conflicting opinions against each other and see which one is better supported, so you might be mistaking debate for "bashing" if one of those opinions turns out to be poorly supported.

Still, good sentiment from you at the end there (though you misspelled peace). I don't take it personally; but when I see the truth being misrepresented I do take it seriously.

P.S. I have no idea what you mean by that. What gave you the impression that my feelings were hurt by you or anyone else in this thread?

The overall message is pretty accurate, just some minor flaws. Some points are hard to compare directly as the technical approach is too different or official data is not readily available. BTW regarding the Cell it's far more powerful than twice the Xenon's raw performance, 360 fanboy!


And does that fact turn you on? Cause it certanly hasn't produced better games thus far.

The Cell is what has interested me the most with regard to the PS3, this from the very beginning when the Cell was announced. Finally influential companies had the balls to leave handicapping legacy bagage behind and come up with an innovative powerful new design to finally push technology progress forward in a significant way.

I think the PS3 has a similar effect on the Cell technology as it helped Blu-Ray disc to establish itself as a movie format. We will see better super computers and more powerful efficient devices based on the Cell. IMO the current ahead for its time PS3, paves the way for a slimline PS3 and PS4. Short term disadvantages to achieve long term gains.

IMO the video is pretty mild on the misinformation part, just compare the endless 360 fanboy threads and even news reports from around when the PS3 launched. Fake news reports of people having had their home burnt down due to the PS3, how many times did we have to hear those MGS4 on 360 rumours?, on technical matter claims the 360 was more powerful than the PS3, some claimed the 360's DVD drive was able to sustain read speeds of 15MB/s, claims of 80 or 96 billion shader ops per second for the Xenos, etc, etc.

The list of 360 fanboy bullshit which floated around has been pretty extreme, in terms of amount and extend of claims. I know as I discussed many of this shit. It's sometimes unbelievable how misinformed and unknowing people can be and still be rude and pedantic at the same time.

I don't recall seeing the video actually provide false facts -- though I did not take careful notes -- but it is incredibly misleading, as we see in the read speed graph, the feature lists, the game lists, etc. etc. Although I think that the video is myopically onesided enough to qualify as bullshit and toe the line of lies, that was actually directed at jerseyboy609's posts, some of which are obviously demonstrably untrue.

In any case you've managed to bring up the "well THEY'RE even WORSE!" argument which is always a sign of a side that is in the wrong and knows it. I'm truly disappointed.

I don't agree, despite some minor flaws IMO the overall message stands strong. The 360 includes many hidden costs. For example if you want to take advantage on the 360 most basic features, you'll gonna spend more cash on the 360.

XBox Core/Arcade ($279.99) + 20 GB harddrive ($89.99) + 2 years of XBox Live online play ($100) = 469 dollars, so more expensive than a 40 GB PS3 while providing far less impressive specs, no Blu-Ray drive (a major !!!!), worse raw performance, smaller harddrive, no Wi-Fi, worse ethernet/HDMI connection, cheaper higher latency lower bandwidth shared system RAM, etc.
