I don't think the gameplay looks very impressive:

Open world and multiplayer sounds very good, but I don't like the isometric kind of top-down view.

The great RPGs like Oblivion are in 1st person.

 Yeah since Baldur's Gate 1/2 weren't great?  Or Neverwinter Nights?

I'm sure they are. It's just that I get distracted by isometric view. Somehow it disturbs me a lot, and I don't feel connected to the characters. It's like playing Diablo or Totan Quest. 
I've tried all those games, and I wish I could get into them because they are great adventures and some of the best scoring games of all time.

I really don't like the sound of this. Their attempt to allure me has done nothing but repel. "As close to an MMO without being an MMO?" The actual mechanics of MMOs are fairly mundane and boring; the whole appeal of MMOs is that you play with tons of other people.

for once, I agree with you shio, oblivion wasn't my type of game either, I lent my friend mass effect and he lent me oblivion.... he got the better deal.
