Check out what scientologists believe... This story is presented to a Scientologist after spending many years and tens of thousands of dollars practicing their religion. I AM NOT JOKING!!!

Xenu (sometimes Xemu) is introduced as an alien ruler of the "Galactic Confederacy" who, 75 million years ago, brought billions of people to Earth in spacecraft resembling Douglas DC-8 airliners, stacked them around volcanoes and blew them up with hydrogen bombs. Their souls then clustered together and stuck to the bodies of the living. Scientologists believe the alien souls continue to do this today, causing a variety of physical ill-effects in modern-day humans. Hubbard called these clustered spirits "Body Thetans", and the advanced levels place considerable emphasis on isolating them and neutralizing their ill effects.

I'm a Pastafarian and follow the way of the Flying Spaghetti Monster. May you all be touched by his noodly appendages.

There is a creator. If you want to call this entity, yaweh, elohimgod etc etc.
You must also need to believe in Math/science.
I am not a, as you would consider Christian, I do believe in Christ, love christ, My beliefs are different becasue I have studied theology, and i mean theology, not just one or 2 religions, everything from summerian to Rael to scientology, PS I am not a scientologist.
I would love to talk about what I beleive, but do not really want to open a can of worms or be ridiculed. I was rasied catholic, when I took on cover ups while working for uncle sam, my eyes were opened up. I believe what I believe becasue I have seen proof.

I believe in systems.

In either case I believe that life has no meaning beyond what we choose for it.

Either the universe is ordered (follows deterministic rules) in which case our destiny is predefined in which case we have no free will and nothing we decide makes an actual difference,

or

the universe is chaotic (does not follow any physical rules) in which case the universe is a pointless exercise and my free will has no purpose.

Combinations invariably result in a chaotic universe.

Either way it's depressing, so I work towards achieving some sort of immortality in hopes of having the time to find satisfying answers.

Personally I have a particularly negative opinion of concepts of Heaven and Hell: Either God (should it exist) hasn't given us free will in which case there's no point in punishing puppets, or we have free will, in which case punishing a sinner after giving him the ability to sin is cruel, unusual and a bit of a joke.

But hey, that's just me. If I'm wrong, I guess that means I'll have to pay for it.

I am also muslim and I believe in "god" (High five zsidane). Its hard to explain specially when english is not my main language. I believe in the Big bang theory but I dont believe that big bang came from nowhere. But same thing could be said about "god" and that is a *paradox*. We got to little knowledge to comprehend such things. But I believe there is too much stuff in this world that we cant explain and its not really enough to say coincidence. I might come back later to the topic I need to meditate and think about this question that have made so may people sleepless.

As for the source of creation, I'd say I don't know enough maths to rule out the possibility that the universe can spontaneously generate itself.

Christian here, non-denominational. Yes, I believe in God.

@Darc Requiem - Don't buy into the load that the Bible is flawed from multiple translations. There are no different interpretations snuck into the text between translations; the only thing lost/added in translation is connotations. Going back to the Greek translation for some words can help shed light on certain ideas, but nothing is altered to trick anyone. In fact, the Bible, compared to other historical documents we accept without a second thought, is more historically valid than any other historical text (based on how accurate it has shown itself to be with the events catalogued within, and how soon after the events the texts were written.) But you won't hear that from your friendly neighborhood college professor.

If you believe something is out there (and why not, that strange feeling seems to be imprinted on our souls), the Bible is really the most compelling description of what it may be. Faith is the key word here, though; assuming that the only truth we can really rely on is that which we can see is such a modern, short sighted idea. Science is not the be-all and end-all of our world, or else we'd have no use for philosophy or any other fields of study.

Prediction: Wii passes 360 in US between July - September 2008. (Wii supply will be the issue to watch, and barring any freak incidents between now and then as well.) - 6/5/08; Wow, came true even earlier. Wii is a monster.

I can agree with that. I just can't imagine that there was nothing before the big bang, and there must be something that caused it.

There is a lot we can explain with science, but for some things we have no explanation. The most importants are: How did Life start and where comes our intelligence from.

I think it's important that Science and Religion can live together. There is a nice quote from Albert Einstein. He said: "I want to understand God's thoughts".

Miyamoto is the ultimate being... He created Hyrule, therefor he is a God!

Seriously, I just live for myself and people that are dear to my heart. I'll only know the truth when I'll die I suppose... Till then, I won't belive in anything because all of those religions/scientific stories seem like some sort of fairytale to me.
