You should buy 360/ps3 then if thats what you want. So you dont like PS1 games then because of the graphics? Shame on you!

You know, even Wii have a decent graphics its still par with 360/ps3 graphics you know

No... It really isn't on par. I understand that Iron man is a really bad game, but look at these two screenshots

i just wanted to put my comment on here and say that i agree with some of the people. Nintendo still up to today has never given out the entire full specs of what the WII is really capable of doing graphically. One thing i do remember is that one of the questions that it was asked when the system came out was if the WII was able to do HD graphics, and their response was that technically, it is possible for the WII to do HD graphics.

Welcome to the site.  Good to see someone else who has paid attention all this time.

EhSteve, why are you comapring a HD game to a PS2 port?

The rEVOLution is not being televised

That's a very poor game to compare since no changes were made on the Wii version over the PS2/PSP games. It's the exact same with tacked-on motion controls--bland colors, undynamic lighting, non-bloom lighting, lower poly. The Wii can handle a helluva lot more than that. If it doesn't have lighting roughly equivalent to Super Mario Galaxy, it wasn't graphically optimized on the Wii. Iron Man is Wii graphical fail. An optimized Wii version wouldn't look exactly as good as the Xbox36/PS3 version, but it would look visibly better than a PS2/PSP version. Essentially, your graphical comparison is a moot point since the Wii version clearly doesn't contain any of the graphical quirks the Wii is capable of. All you've shown is how much better Xbox360 and PS3 generally are over a PS2 movie tie-in.

Sure, people may scoff "hah!, who wants COD on the wii. Plus, it'll probably be a PS2 port."
Well, the sales are talking. As of today, it seems that the PS2 version has been canceled, and the COD4 engine is running on the wii. Thus, it is not that the wii cannot run COD4, it is that IW does not like the wii. Now, "HD only" games are being made for the wii, and it's probably going to be changing even more. Top spin 3, Cod5, James Bond:Quantom of Solace, and even Facebreaker. They might not be AAA but it's starting. If Companies like Ubisoft don't get off their ass, they'll be paying soon when Activision gets record profits thanks to the wii.

I'm not clear on what you're saying... Was CoD4 intended for the PS2 and now cancelled, or was CoD5 intended for the PS2, and THAT'S the one that's now canned? Also, has the Call of Duty 4 engine actually been shown to run on the Wii? I know the previous version of the Unreal engine runs smoothly on it--as Red Steel was built on the Unreal engine.

from what i've heard, the PS2 version of COD5 was canceled in order to focus on the wii version. It was also the only platform uncapable of running the COD4 engine. (yes, it's been confirmed)

I am really not sure what happened to the PS2 version.

If the PS2 version was really cancelled, there are likely two reasons:

Firstly, the PS2 is finally losing it's steam and the PS3 is finally starting to outsell it (though, I think this is more to do with the PS2 finally declining in popularity than the PS3 really growing).  Making a PS2 title now is becoming less and less viable.  Now, is there still a PSP version of CoD5 planned?  That could still present issues.

The other reason may simply be that this third party dev realizes that there is a lot they can do on the Wii and want to be able to focus on making the Wii version closer to being a AAA title rather than working to make two overall mediocre Wii and PS2 games.  I think they understand that the Sony sales of CoD5 will be focused on the PS3 over the PS2 and that it's just smarter to make just one version for a Sony console, and to optimize the Wii version for the Wii console.

From an article I just found, the Devs indicate that "they're taking the Wii very seriously."  And they're incorporating the Zapper.  Bleah.  Just give me smooth pointer control with logical motion use and I'll be more than happy.  Also, the graphics need to blow other Wii titles out of the water.
