It's not ABOUT the graphics, but the game play, how does changing the dishes help the GAMEPLAY? Too expensive, it would take money away from the Motion Control R&D team.

On the other hand If you did something crazy like change the shape of a dish & the way you wash it based on the location it would simply confuse the casual market and they would stop having fun and end the game.

The problem is your thinking like a hardcore gamer when you come up with these ideas, you have to focus on the ido...casual crowd. Remember keep it simple. Keep it cheap.
