Forums - Microsoft Discussion - I played Ninja Gaiden 2 today for 4 hours and...

I watched one of the guy's at the top of the leaderboard's video and all he did was the ultimate technique over and over again. It was actually quite boring and cheap looking. I did watch a guy playing the first stage on master ninja and he was a friggen god. He was doing some awesome shit with combos, counters, and shurikens. It was a sight to behold.

I am waiting for an improved PS3 port of Ninja Gaiden 2. NG 2 will need to be ported to PS3. Ninja Gaiden series sells stronger on PS consoles

Ah, yes! Who could forget about 'Ninja Gaiden: Ninja Idol' and 'Ninja Gaiden: Ninja Chef', huh? Epic sellers! Because I know you're not talking about Sigma.

ugg.  that was one thing about ngs that i absolutely loved.  the game made me learn it.  if i died, it was my fault (except at the end when i had no health stuff, that was annoying but rewarding when i beat it).  there was no one to blame.  ive only really gotten that feeling on ngs, gow 1&2, and crash 1-3.

im hoping this comes out for ps3, but im not crossing my finger.  ill find a way to play it.

my pillars of gaming: kh, naughty dog, insomniac, ssb, gow, ff

i officially boycott boycotts.  crap.

With a PS3 your buying that console on what you hope know the future holds.

No, I stand by my original assertion. If FFXIII flops, it will literally be a disaster for PS3 owners. All PS3 owners, like myself, have banked on the belief that XIII will be as good as the rest of the games in the series since FFVI.

Now, several people hate a few of those games, but I contend that they never actually understood the ones they hated. The reasons for them being "bad" games are simply destroyed by reviews and common sense elements that are so well done and produced that no-one could ever call them "bad" and get away with it. It's not the same as movies, there are ways to be definitive when it comes to quality or lack thereof in game development.

For instance, many people hated the story in FFXII, therefore thought the game was bad. However, the battle system is one of the deepest in the series and in many ways is absolutely amazing, coupled with the fact that the game is obviously a work of millions of dollars and years of development and while you can dislike the game, you can't really call it bad.

In fact, it is excellent.

However, that said, there will be many people who hate FFXIII for the same reasons they've hated every FF after VI. They won't be getting what they expect. Final Fantasy likes to re-invent itself with every installment, and going traditional just isn't going to happen. The only thing for certain about FFXIII is that you won't be getting what you expect.

Good for gamers like myself, terrible for say, casual FF fans, or FFVII fanboys who hated FFVIII and FFXII for trying successfully to differentiate themselves above and beyond what other games in the genre have to offer.

So, I didn't buy a PS3 in hopes that Final Fantasy XIII would be "good." I am instead a Final Fantasy fan, and I know that I must play FFXIII and verses 13, simply because I know that I must play them. I will either see where the series went wrong or see where it continued on its path of excellence, but either way I must see for myself.

If either game goes multiplat, I will sell my PS3, because without those two games, and MGS4 which I will have completed very soon, then I actually have little or no use for the system outside of the stray cool, but missible title like Disgaea 3 or WKS.

So, we don't actually know anything, except that FFXIII is now an exclusive for the PS3 and that we must play it. The future of the actual console to most casual consumers is still a "hope it's great" as all man-made things are, uncertain.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

In the ubidays, the playable version of FARCRY2 was the 360 one....
