Forums - Sony - MGS4 gets a graphical Upgrade

Speaking of MGS2, it took me a couple of playthroughs to really understand most of the stuff in that game. Talk about deep. Hell, it took a playthrough through all three games to notice that the origonal MGS indirectly mentions the Patriots, or at least that's what I took from it.

When you are in the elevators going to Metal Gear and you're on the codec talking about Naomi is where I found it. I don't remember it exactly but I'll try to keep any spoilers down for those who haven't played it. Master Miller says "She must be working for the terrorists" and then the Colonel says something along the lines of "Could she be working for them" ('them' meaning some other entity) or something like that. Go check it out if you don't believe me.

Going back to MGS4, in an EGM interview with Kojima after the E3 video, he made sure to let EGM know that the trailer had bugs and such and that he and his team were working on it. Fast foward to the next time MGS4 was shown (which I think was the one where the robots beat the crap out of all the soldiers) and there wasn't a single slowdown in that video.

While the cutscenes are better quality than gameplay (apart from obvious things like animations), the cutscenes do give you an idea of just about how MGS4 is going to look so I think it's stupid to say it's going to look a lot worse than that.

Around the Network

Well if it wasn't of the genre and the console's price I would be interested... Can't they make a story or just movies so I can see? I'm really curious about what's to happen!!!

MGS 2 the deepest game in the history of video games, hands down and that's why some people hate it, cause they don't wanna think when they are playing video games...

Interesting -- I found it puerile, if not downright infantile. I actually don't play MGS specifically because the plot is so poor and the dialogue so heavy handed. To each his own I guess.

MGS reminds me of Bond movies: fun action, but corny dialogue and paper thin characters. It's not parallel to, say, Brokeback Mountain or The Queen or any other such film based around dialogue and thematic progression, not action. Again, not saying the game is bad: I think MGS' gameplay is great. I just think the storyline is god awful.

I think it's kind of harsh to shut down a game, just because the game is categorized in a genre that you don't usually like.

One thing I could suggest is have a friend buy it and then just sit there and watch it like a movie hehe, that's what me and my friends do, we love MGS stuff.

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )
