But to be honest you are over raiting resolution. yes with a high resolution you can fit more on the screen but thats about it to be honest.

Heres a good example. The lion king.

this game was for Megadrive/Genesis Snes. on the snes the game looked more vibrant and blended better.

On the megadrive the game had a higher resolution but the colours looked crazy.

However the low resolution on the snes made the game kinda un-playable because you could not see your enemies coming at you untill they are like 2 cms in front. but on the megadrive you could see your enemies from a good distance.

But being as resolution has been high enough to play nearly any game without any problems since ps1, haveing a high resolution is just for the sakes of eye candy. it dont really add anything to the game.

High resolution isn't just about eye candy as you have already hinted in this post. Have you tried to play PC games on a SDTV? What about viewing this web page on a SDTV? Noticed the difference? A lot of today's PC games will not run lower than 1024x768 as higher resolution also allows a bigger and better interface. Higher resolution allows you to see more of this thread on the screen at once. ( to be fair NG2 resolution still has over twice as many pixels than a SDTV (4:3) so it will still look better on a HDTV than a SDTV)

As you have hinted (fit more on the screen) someone else, in a different thread, noticed that when playing CoD4 on a SDTV he had to use a scope to sniper when those with HDTV could sniper him with any gun. Seldom if ever does higher resolution adds more eye candy to a PC game but only reveals the eye candy that's already there. Other times it gives a greater viewing area as Civ4 for example and a few games adds more information (interface). All of these enhances gameplay.

Whatever it is it's one of the best looking games on the market.
Put's all PS3 games to shame.

I see we still have alot of people who are like cavemen and still think higher resolution means better looking game.

A higher resolution does generaly improve the look of the game ,if you had to pay say$10 for 1080p Ninja Gaiden i'm sure many of you would put the money down for it.( assuming you actualy had a HD tv)

 As for that PS3 comment

You have just more or less said what i have already said but in a diff way. If you read what i have put you will clearly see that i have stated LOW resolution can make games un-playable but the resolution of nearly all games today is more than enough to be able to play the game without any problems. So in thatscase high resolution is just for eye candy. yes you do with a point with games like civilization.

Since HappySqurriel wants to post comparison shots...

Some of what's point out there is kinda stupid and there's some definite immaturity involved... but yeah, Ryu looks better in Sigma than he does in II. In fact, switching back and forth between the two games, I'm shocked by how much sharper Sigma is than II. The only points at which II ever seems to look better than Sigma is when the artists for Sigma were too lazy to update some of the artwork. The new sequences that were added to Sigma (for example, the burning dojo at the end of the second chapter) arguably look better than Ninja Gaiden II.

@ Deviation

Oh damn.

That's crazy.

Of course, Ninja Gaiden II does have something that Sigma lacks... those lovely, lovely gibs.

I noticed the fuzzy quality of NG2 visuals, must be the crazy uprezzing going on - no matter how companies try hard to sell it, interpolation is a croc of shit.

While it doesn't matter much for the visual quality, it's still pretty ridiculous. People keep touting that the Wii sucks because of the lower resolution, yet many high profile PS360 games render at similar resolution. Pretty ironic.

not when all the third party games like like N64 titles.

And that's the only thing I need is *this*. I don't need this or this. Just this PS4... And this gaming PC. - The PS4 and the Gaming PC and that's all I need... And this Xbox 360. - The PS4, the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360, and that's all I need... And these PS3's. - The PS4, and these PS3's, and the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360... And this Nintendo DS. - The PS4, this Xbox 360, and the Gaming PC, and the PS3's, and that's all *I* need. And that's *all* I need too. I don't need one other thing, not one... I need this. - The Gaming PC and PS4, and Xbox 360, and thePS3's . Well what are you looking at? What do you think I'm some kind of a jerk or something! - And this. That's all I need.

"Cruis'n Wii" is not a good examply of "all the third party games" in general. Ya know, don't take it personally, but read over your comment. you're... kind of trolling... Given, if you've ever be in a thread with an anti-Wii troll, you would know that what Chirizum said is actually quite common... Just don't attack so viciously, and don't say something so harsh and untrue. It only makes you look bad.
