Forums - Nintendo Discussion - New Wii games explosion.

Even though Beyond Good and Evil 2 isn't likely to come to the wii everything is not done and over.

There are several games from the ground up for Wii (though not exclusive)

Shaun White Snowboarding

This wii title looks pretty good and can used with the balance board. You have loads of features that can be unlocked in the game, points that can be won and used to unlock features.

Co-op and competitive mode

Release: Winter 2008

Sim City Wii

Even ignoring the controls, EA is packing the title with new features. You can build a variety of facilities in your city, including such requirements as residential and shopping areas, stadiums, and police stations. When erecting these buildings, you're free to select a theme, changing the overall look of the construction. Options include India, China, and European, resulting in buildings that look like they were pulled from those regions. More elaborate styles include "near future," offering a futuristic concept, "crystal," where everything appears to be made out of crystals, and "sweets." We'll let you figure out that last one for yourself.

In typical Sim City fashion, there's more to the game than just building your city. You'll also have to deal with disasters. Examples include meteor impacts, dinosaur attacks, alien invaders, and giant robot attack (remember, the game is debuting in a Japanese magazine).

Those who take to the art of city planning will have a new way of showing off their creations: Wi-Fi Connect! Using Nintendo's online service, you can make public the cities that you've created in the mission mode and get feedback and rankings from other players.

Japan releasemonth: September

But don't forget the killer apps:

Just wondering because I havent messed around with the WiiFit yet. Is there a facsimile to hitting a button on the controller on the WiiFit? Say you wanted to do a trick or something on a snowboarding game.

The wii-mote and balance board can be combined yes (if that is what you mean?). See the RRR trailer for an example.

I wonder if a Wii cycling game would come with an actual bike peripheral

OMFG!!!! I hate the Wii, the RRR made me smile when I saw the people dancing and butt surfing.

Watching the Interview with that guy just made me pissed at Ubisoft for not bringing Prince of Persia and Beyond Good and Evil to the Wii.

I'm Unamerica and you can too.

Never underestimate the ambition of the white plastic vendors.

I'll have my eye on Sim City Wii. The last Sim City I tried to play (3000, I think) was an overcomplicated, buggy POS, so here's hoping they cut out some of the fat and iron out the wrinkles (if you can call whole sections of city being denied water and power service no matter how many fucking links I make 'wrinkles').

Thanks dude, that was what I was wondering. Seems like alot of gameplay possibilities with that. Will they ever get realized? Probably not.

Me too, they actually seem pretty ambitious with it!!!

Full Article:

May 28, 2008 - You didn't really think EA's plans for Sim City on the Wii would end with the Virtual Console version of the game, did you? The series will be getting the full Wii treatment as well through the all new Sim City Creator. The latest issue of Japan's Weekly Famitsu magazine has the scoop.

Sim City Creator keeps the basic look and concept of the Sim City series in place, but adds in some nifty Wiimote control options. You use the controller as a pointer to point and draw roads and train tracks, allowing you to more directly experience the feel of planning out a city.

As you build you're town, you have the option of getting a sweeping overview like only a rich, corrupt mayor could: via helicopter. Taking a helicopter tour of your city allows you to get a look at your work in progress, and maybe even make some new discoveries.

Japanese Wii players can look forward to Sim City Creator in September. As for international markets, nothing has been announced yet, but given that EA is the publisher, it seems pretty safe to expect a release outside of Japan at some point.
