I (personally) think Wii HD is a possibility in the Super Nintendo Entertainment System/Gameboy Advance (SP) kind of way ... They may decide to go in a different direction, which would be (nearly) impossible to predict.

I think I liked it better when people were making fun of the name...

urine jokes were the catch of the day for me... there is no lol here just serious talk about wii... and it makes me sad.

I don't care what they name it, as long as it can deliver a new kind of fun once this gets old.

They will be very tempted to keep the Wii name in some way but I very much doubt it will be Wii HD. It's like admitting that HD graphics is important when it isn't. The next Wii will show even more innovation from Nintendo, HD is just an aspect of the spec.

This is the best name that Nintendo can use, in terms of still being easy to pronounce and giving a fairly whimsical feel, in terms of NOT using the stupid idea like "Wii2" or "Wii HD", and in terms of having the name represent, both through letters and visual appearance, what Nintendo's Philosophy is :

Wii = We, representing gamers together, the 2 i's look like people playing next to each other
