I agree $50 is too much for your typical puzzle game BUT this is not your typical puzzle game

| Smeags said: That's what I love about this game. You always feel like you can do better. "If I just throw it one more time... I'll definitely get it!" and 10 throws later you're still going at it, trying to find that one block that will make all of the difference. |
Yeah, I hear that. Lost count of how long I spent on it today. Still need two more Golds on the Expert Challenges, then I get to move on to Master Challenges, yay! =P
Multiplayer is great too. Love the weird air hockey style mode.
EDIT: And there's those last two golds. Time for bed.
my neighbor hates the wii- no games he likes on it and he hates motion control (he got it for his kids- HE has a ps3.
I let him borrow Boom Blox...he loves it and is buying it
I love boom blox but I really hate the shooting levels.
Thankfully there aren't too many of them.
Currently Playing:
Wii: Mario Kart Wii, Wii Sports Resort
this thread should be more popular...this is what's wrong with wii owners...*sigh*
Perhaps the game needed more advertizing. Spielberg should mean more.
funny thing about this title is it's so easy to dismiss as a gimmicky game you could play on flash sites for free - until you feel the controls and experience it, doesn't take long for it to explain controls, suck you in then ramp up the difficulty and the addictiveness along with it.
Dont know how your gonna get that across with advertising to be honest.
I agree that EA seriously screwed up by not using Spielberg's name more.

You could be right...just seems like you could show the gameplay, though, because flash games don't have physics like this.

Are you kidding? when I heard of Spieberg making a game, do you know what I thought of? E.T.... The Game... The biggest, ugliest, steaming piece of dog crap shovelware in history...
Advertising Spielberg would not have been a good option... I'm glad they didn't... I still have yet to pick up the game, but that's probably due to my wallet starving for cash...
The Spielberg connection to this game was one of the bigger puzzles for this title. As much as I enjoy his films and respect him as a film maker, I see little connection to the gaming industry. Certainly not enough to merit buying a game because his name is affiliated with it.
Personally, I find this title to be one of the more enjoyable titles for the Wii, and believe it will have longevity over the years as one of those games you can continue to casually pick up and play periodically. I don't know if I'll still feel that way after finishing all the challenges and the adventure mode, but the multi player mode means a different experience each time.
As far as the user interface goes, more Wii games should be like this in terms of optimizing use of the control scheme. This was one of the main reasons for all the excitement over the Wii after all. This game simply wouldn't work this well on any other platform.
Definitely worth keeping in the collection.
