Forums - Sales - Dragon Quest Swords Pre-orders Japan

Check DQ Monsters. It sold 1.4 millions in Japan in DS, but I bet the preorders weren´t that high. And anyway, DQ Swords has 1 more month to get preorders, and I´m sure many kids and adults will get it after the release, seeing that it is an accesible game. Better to have realistic preorders numbers than fake ones ( GoW2).

DQIX should be 2M easy.

I suppose you mean that it will get 2M preorders. If it has a decent single player, together with the multi, that number may be conservative.

Swords look like shit and It's a Wonderful World looks like the best game this year on the DS if it comes out this year...

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!

its a wonderful world doent look like my style of game

True that. For 250k people to pre-order even when developers say the game may be too easy and simplistic. I would call that a loyal fanbase. I do expect it to sell much more. I'd say around 750k-1M for a spin-off is pretty decent. DQIX should be 2M easy.

Make that 5 million easy

About a month and a week more to go and people are saying 250k preorders is only "ok" for a spinoff on a console with an install base of 2.5m?

The sales numbers for DS has rotted you guys brains. That looks like a fantastic number that could grow to 300+ thousand easily in the next 5 weeks. FF3 for the DS sold 503,051 copies in its first week in Japan, the DS has an installbase insanely higher than the Wii has now. DQ:S is looking like it could crest 400k first week on a much much smaller userbase. I just dont see how that "could be so much better".

I think that is a great number! I can't wait for this to come stateside. If iOi's prediction of 700,000 is reached that means roughly 25% of Wii owners in Japan are going to purchase this game. That is pretty good for an attach ratio. It's no Wii Sports or Play but damn good.

Is this retailer pre-orders, or consumer pre-orders? People keep intermixing the two, and they are very different figures.

If this is consumer pre-orders, that's a huge figure. Might get closer to 400k before release, which means retailers may order 600-700k for first week (if not more).

And people thought this game was a "nothing"... (I can't waitfor it...)
