Of course, I don't like all of those anyway, but that's just my opinion. I just find it hard to believe that as a gamer you aren't interested in any PSP or PS3 game. As a gamer myself, I think there are at least 5 games on every console ever released I'd want to play. It might be a struggle on something like the Jaguar, but perhaps besides that one, I don't know. I'll probably never get a 360 but there are certainly games on it I'd enjoy playing that are exclusive. I just don't understand how a fan of videogames can say they wouldn't want to play ANY (your emphasis) game on a current system. Very strange to me. |
I agree that there are usually five titles on any console that make it worth owning, but from my perspective when viewing the PS3 and its exclusives thus far, there is a comparable title on one of the other consoles that I'd really rather play as it is. Virtua Fighter 5? Looks good, but really I want to try out the new MK on Wii while patiently awaiting SSBB. Resistance? I'd rather buy a 360 and play Gears, as I'm a HUGE fan of Epic and have sunk hundreds of hours on every Unreal Tournament since the first. Motorstorm? I played this on a demo machine at my local Target. Freakin' beautiful, but playing Excitetruck vs my seven year old son is more fun. Gran Tourismo HD? I'm not seeing what it has over Forza Motorsport 2. I don't know if I'm in the minority or what, but that's my two cents. Doesn't mean I would never consider buying the PS3 or buying any of these games in the future, but judging where things are right now? I'll pass. These titles just aren't compelling me to put down my keyboard+mouse or trade in my PS2. There's little there that distinguishes any of these game from anything else this gen, or even last gen, other than being pretty to look at. |
There are a lot of other games you don't mention. If you don't prefer them, I'm not going to argue with you, heh. I prefer Resistance due to it's 40-player online component and superior storyline to Gears, but that's me.
As for Motorstorm, it is incredible playing with the sixaxis controls in first person, especially online with up to 11 other people (no lag in both from my experience), but it does need a split-screen mode. I think that's the only flaw in the kind of game it is. I liked Ridge racer more, but that's me. For motion controls Motorstorm is the best experience on the PS3, right there with flOw.
Gran Turismo HD is a demo (a very nice demo, but still). GT5 will come at some point. I don't like racing sims, personally.
Calling All Cars is one of the best multi-player games I've played in quite some time, Warhawk beta is challenging that, and other online games are nice. I consider them a bonus. The upscaling of PS2 games has convinced me to get a memory adapter to transfer saves back and forth now, so that's another bonus.
It's still early, but I think the PS3 lineup stands up to the Wii lineup so far, and this summer and fall seem to favor the PS3 imo. I'll own both, so it doesn't really matter to me.
I know that gamers try to convince themselves they don't need to play certain exclusives because they don't want to buy another console. I did it with the xbox and gamecube and I feel like I made the right decision for me (especially since my Wii will be backwards compatible). I do the same thing with the 360 but some games do make it hard. I think upgrading my PC will make it easier since a lot of the games will also appear there, but there will still be games I would like to play that I won't be able to, the same with any console I don't own. My PS3 will have a lot of the 360 games, as well, and all 3 consoles will have some great exclusives. I just think the PS3 will have some of the better ones for me.
But there is no way I can say "there are no 360 exclusives that are worth playing." That would just be lying to myself.
