First artwork and details from Tecmo's sequel.

 May 23, 2008 - The DS is the platform of choice for those who love to raise monsters. Tecmo is continuing the Monster Rancher series on the system with the announcement today of Monster Rancher DS 2.

In Japan, the sequel is fully titled Monster Farm DS 2: Yomigaeru! Master Leader Densetsu. The basic premise is the same as past Monster Rancher titles in that you play as a monster breeder and raise monsters for battle in a tournament.

That's awesome, but where are you going to pull the monster data from in creation? The last Monster Rancher I played was #2 on PSOne and I remember clearly you would pop in a CD and see what came out the other end. Regardless, with a good online setup this game will probably own. I do approve.

I blame Monster Rancher for me not being able to distinguish the difference between it and Monster Hunter back in the PS2 days.

I played it on the GBA it was nice, not sure if I'd buy it though... hmm now if this was on the Wii and the game was more expansive than the GBA version, with online torny and team friends vs ppl, this would be awesomeness.
