TACKED ON MOTION CONTROLS?

im sorry, but even reviewers have admitted that the controls are very good, better than traditional pads. And porting from ps2 to Wii is cheaper than 360 to ps3, as far as I´m concerned.

Do notice, pray tell, that I did not mention anything remotely related, or along the lines of uber-mega-awosome!!!111ONE!!1 games, or great games, or even lame-crapola games. I simply mentioned "games". Not ports, not GC, not PS2, not anything qualificative at all.

Just games. Period. Got it? 

I'm actually thinking about getting Madden 08, which would be the first time I've ever considered buying a Madden game. I don't care about the NFL or football in general, but I use to play touch football after Karate lessons and the Wii version of Madden 07 kinda reminded me of that fun when I rented it. Even my sister gave it a try and played the school yard mode with me and actually had a good time. And she has zero interest in football. 08 sounds like it'll have some cool extras, so I'm actually keeping an eye on it.

Well, whenever he does die, you can bet EA will come out with some ultra-collectible edition "in his memory". 

Another reason no one mentions. Wii version came out toward end of season unlike XBox 360 & PS2 version. PS3 also falls under this distinction. The hot period had already passed on this game as most people played it under XBox 360 or PS2 version. I WOULD say Gamecube but by that time most people who would be GC players were waiting on Wii. Same case probably befell those PS2 owners who may have already owned it and saw no need for PS3 version unless being a collector.

Compare sales of Madden 07 on ALL consoles (and then do same with handhelds and then both groups together) and check sales rates figuring for time of release and circumstances therein.
Both Wii and PS3 versions sold fairly well considering they came out so late.

And I'm with Brainbox on this one. I'm not even a fan of football and I just want to play Madden on Wii to get a feel of how the control scheme is! It's gonna be interesting to see how XBox 360 Madden and Wii Madden play out.

Now THAT'S grounds for a prediction league!

The issue with that assumption, JohnLucas, is that the Wii version of madden sold better than any other - when it didn't. Madden 2006 on 360 outsold the Wii's 2007 version almost 2:1.

Now, the question is, where does Madden 08 go? If Wii can't get above 1m sales, I am going to question the viability of the platform when its probable even the PS2 version will get 1m. But time will tell.
