I was just about to create a thread for this.

Looks like Wii sales will be substantially lower in this months NPD. The US numbers for the Wii supply in the past 7 months always seem to be just a little bit higher than their Japan supply for the same time period. Every month the NPD and monthly total for Japan are really close. We already have reports also that Nintendo last month shipped massive amounts of Wii's to EU, almost rivaling their launch in some areas to support Mario Strikers.

I predict 250k or so for Wii in the upcoming NPD on the 14th due to lowered supply from last month. And a sh*tstorm of "Teh Wii is losing steam" threads the same way people did when it dipped down in March due to supply.

Yeah, people are going to judge Nintendo by it's own success. Nintendo's April was better than any other video game company in history. It's just not realistic to keep on increasing month after month with no dips. Even the PS2 had it's quiet months.

As far as I remember, Wii numbers increased a lot during some weeks, about 130k-120k for 3 weeks. NPD numbers should actually be higher for May.

5 (DS) to 1 (PSP)

Now what about PS2?

Im sorry I dont know what the ratio to Gamecube to PS2 is I just had to make it a little better for Sony fans.

I just dont think its likely, they only seem to be able to do those huge shipments to one area per month, in April the US got the bulk of the consoles for paper mario, while the other two countries sold through less than the US, however everything this month points to EU getting the bulk of the shipments last month as opposed to the US. I would be surprised if they managed to crest 300k. Cant wait to see.

Haha yep. Sony has definitely had dominant days in Japan before. They don't have nearly the uphill climb of Microsoft.

Be interesting to see what unravels in japan, Ms might win over japan with price, increase sales, because of lack of games, but then again, ps3 already beat MS 2 year lead in japan, which means,it may be possible for ps3 to slowly dominate over there, only time will tell. One thing is for sureThere are more systems, sold this time around(handhelds included)

Since the wii is attracting more non gamers, this might be an entry way to other systems, example, person has a wii.shows to a person not into games, the other person says isnt there a system i can watch movies etc??.......yes PS3, with blue ray, or 360 hd.

There is litterally a 0% chance that the 360 has a chance of even getting 25% of the sales the PS3 does.

However, that doesn't take away from the fact the 360 can do VERY well compared to the first Xbox - which it's going to easily outsell.

I believe PS3 will start doing better in Japan, and eventually get to some decent levels, but only sell around 10-12.5m units LTD - half of what the Wii gets. 360 could end up with around 3m if it's lucky.
