 I hope this is a wake up call to Sony(not that sales, the Pac-Man, it will make anyone laughh, but seriously). It's bad when your being out sold 5:1. It's obvious, but Sony seriously needs to rethink their stratigy.

As you can see, the left represents Sony between 2001-mid 2006. But the right represents December of 2006 with Nintendo entering the market.

Me and all my friends own the PS2 and now we all own Wiis.  Granted, I think most of us intend to buy a PS3 when it's within our affordability range (i.e. under $500) but understand that not all PS2 owners swapped up to higher graphics like you think.

yes i am a ps2 owner too (actually bought 3 as two of them died) and now i bought a Wii. I'm waiting for the PS3 price to drop below $300 and i'll buy one (provide that there are some very good games out by that time)

If Sony managed to keep a large no of 3rd party game developers for another 12 months or so, then PS3 can and will come back. But PS3 will NOT be dominating like PS/PS2 and most probably won't win this console war.

And it will be a really tough battle for Sony when they release PS4.

I can`t imagine gamers, which will ignore so many amazing PS3 exclusive games, like Lair, HS, NGS, R&C, LBP, Uncharted, Tekken6, Folklore, Motorstorm, Resistance, MGS4, 8 days, Afrika, WKS, FFXIII, FFXIIIv, Killzone2, Getaway, GT5, GoW3 and etc.

It's easy when you're not interested in any of them, CrazzyMan. I'm not saying that any of them won't be great games, just not the games I play.

I can easily imagine gamers not paying 700 dollars for a system with one controller and a game I mean come on honestly you think that is the price that can win this generation? I'm not saying anything about its games just that well for 600 dollars I see a lot of people looking at what else they could get expecially during the holiday season a $250 dollar system that comes bundled with I'll say half a game with an extra controller and another for something like $360 has got to appeal to more of the market than a system with the same set up costing $720. I mean the games matter a great deal and can obviously sell a system look at the gamecube and ps2 but its crazy to ignore a price difference like that even with great games your talking about a hell of a buy in for most consumers $720 for an extra controler and a game they may not ignore it but many will probably pass it off without much consideration.

I can, me being one of them. Wii has big hitting exclusives too (MP3, SSBB, SMG and Zelda to name but a few) and so does the X360 (Halo 3 is the best example). Half of the games you mentioned arent even that important, FFXIII, GT5 and MGS4 are the only titles than can compete with the above titles.

Just because PS3 has some excellent exclusives doesnt mean that all gamers that enjoy those games will buy it. Its like saying that because Halo and Halo 2 were on the original box that all gamers should have bought that, it didnt happen. 

Years of TV must have addled your imagination there crazzyman.  I don't care how many awesome games a system has, it isn't going to move with a price above $400.  It won't move large numbers with a price above $250.  It is as simple as that. Come to think of it, it doesn't even require imagination to see that, just common sense.
