This article was posted in a recent thread but what seemed to go unnoticed was this fantastic idea by someone at Nintendo:

"As an added benefit Nintendo promised to make a donation to the American Heart Association - five dollars for every person that tried the game in the park today."

This is such a beautiful idea on so many levels!  People love to give to charities and when all they have to do is donate a few minutes of their time and someone else puts up the money we like it even better.  Whats more, Nintendo was able to get this product into the hands of so many people and now they have that buzz flying about New York City with the folks excited about Wii Fit and pleased with Nintendos philanthropic donation as well...a combo that probably breeds quite a bit of word of mouth advertisements which may very well pay for itself. 

But lets not forget at the end of the day Nintendo cuts a check for this donation and it goes to a good cause.  Everybody wins, and that is a beautiful idea indeed. 

I thought the same thing when it was announced.
