No, why would you draw that conclusion? |
Oh, I don't know Still waiting on the first AAA exclusive game for this console and it's been a long hard road. |
This will be my last post for a while, cause I've posted so much in this topic I don't want it to seem like I'm trolling it.
I have been an outspoken opponent of the PS3 because I feel that I bought it on the promise of a lie.
The Lie? A better PS2. So far it has been a far worse PS2. Why? Because of the severe lack of JRPG's for the console.
I feel that I'm being asked to get all excited and happy about what I consider Xbox style games, aka Uncharted. I have an Xbox, on my PS2, I want to play some Japanese games. Not a FPS or a Jungle adventure based on Tomb Raider, or even a Platformer similar to Mario Galaxy. I want to play Final Fantasy, or just anything, Persona 4, something.
That is why I said it has been a long hard road for me, and that is why I stand by it.
Rachet and Uncharted aren't bad games, but they don't reach beyond their genres to make the PS3 a special experience, and they don't fall in genres I particularly care for. No PS3 exclusives do, and most good PS3 multiplats tend a little too much towards the FPS genre for my tastes. I do play shooters from time to time, like F.E.A.R. or The Darkness, but that doesnt' change the fact that I generally hate that genre of game and it also doesn't change the fact that the PS3 has no good JRPG's or even SJRPG's yet, and the Xbox 360 and even the Wii have at least some great examples of the genre. So how the hell does that work, coming off the PS2? Did anyone else buy a PS3 expecting some Japanese games? That whole big fanboy audience who bought the PS3 for FFXIII are just as dissapointed as I am. They just can't bring themselves to admit it. I couldn't either, until I identified jrpg problem with the console. Now I know my PS3 won't be what I need it to be until I get Disgaea 3. I hope that sheds a little light on what I meant.
