 t's been widely publicized that Metal Gear Solid 4will be the last title in the series to be directed by Hideo Kojima and will also be the last adventure ofSolid Snake. Some have construed this to mean that the PS3 title would also be the final game in the series. Talking to MTV's Mutliplayer blog, associate producer Ryan Payton set the record straight.

"I think there's been some misconceptions that this is the last 'Metal Gear,'" said Payton. "This is really just the last chapter of the saga of the Solid Snake story."

The post goes on to report on the inclusion of the Altair costume in Metal Gear Solid 4. Discussions for the collaboration began when Assassin's Creed producer Jade Raymond met Kojima during E3 and Tokyo Game Show in 2007.

"I think it's a testament to the Ubisoft Montreal team," said Payton. "Ubisoft - which is a very dynamic company - I just don't see them getting stuck in all that red tape. Rather than try to figure out some royalty sharing it was 'let's just do this, this'll be fun.'"

 

 

this looks interesting if it is real, I dont think its true but what do you guys think

It's the last Metal Gear Solid, not the last Metal Gear.

And even then, I think it's only the last main series MGS.  From what I understand, Kojima has expressed interest in making a Metal Gear Solid: Portiple Ops 2 in the future.

If memory serves, It's also going to be Kojima's last Metal Gear.
And I'm not optimistic that other people can carry on his work.

I think Kojima's apprentices are gong to make MGS:PO 2.
Kojima's apprentices also did the first one.
MGS:PO isn't half as good as the console MGS though. =l
