I think the lineups from Nin, Sony and MS all look "weak" at the moment... we need to wait a couple of months (e3 or after e3)

Nintendo = We don't know what they will do (perhaps kid icarus, animal crossing, pikmin... but we don't know for certain)

Sony = LBP is a new IP. Resistance 1 was not exactly huge. And most of the other anounced games are new IPs too.

MS = Fable & Banjo are big question marks... same with halo wars. Only Gears of Wars 2 is a given

2.80 million and counting, with a 12 million userbase isn't huge?

lol is that huge to you ?

A launch game that was the only good game for the ps3 when it came out... it was the must-get title on the ps3 for a long time... and still needed to get bundled to reach those numbers.

Sorry but no, thats NOT huge.

So the first game ignored you don't think the second game will really be huge. Do you know anything about resistance 2? If you did you wouldn't be laughing.

P.S. The game was bundled for three months in only the Uk which at most could account for 5% of sales. I really am sick of hearing that cop-out.

Before GT5 and KZ2 got delayed, the ps3 was generally accepted as having the better line up this year.

However, now that those have been delayed, it's basically even between the ps3 and 360, so it's really a matter of preference.

It really all depends on what games get delayed next. Alan Wake and KZ2 have already been delayed, and it seems likely to me that Infamous, WKC, SC:C, Halo Wars, and a few others could be delayed next.

Bolded all that will be on PC and/or have or has the better version on PC.

More of the list might be on PC too... not sure.

You do realize that EVERY game in green will be on the PC as well, right?

NO! Firstly, Alan Wake, Halo Wars and maybe Splinter Cell have been pushed back into 2009. That's a pretty big blow to the 360's lineup.
Secondly, the PS3 has a lot of heavy-hitters- if 1 or 2 of them get pushed into next year, that doesn't necessarily stop 2008 from being the PS3's year. How can you expect all of it's big games to arrive in 1 year?

Also, you missed out Tekken 6, SOCOM: Confrontation and Motorstorm 2 along with lower-tier games such as Wipeout HD, Haze, Siren, Linger in Shadows, Disgaea 3 and Valkyria Chronicles. 8 Days and WKC could still arrive this year.

Anyway, we should wait until E3 is over before we start talking about this.

WHOA!!!! When did Halo Wars get pushed back?

You just included things like PSN games, online-only games and sequels to mediocre launch titles in your so-called heavy-hitter line-up.

Tekken 6 will be big, but lets not pretend the franchise has the quality or sales luster it used too.  Disgaea and Valkyria chronicles wont hold a candle to Infinite Undiscovery, Tales of Vesperia and Lost Odyssey.

So basically what you're saying is the PS3 has nothing. Thank you for your input but at least try to make your allegiance to Microsoft a little more discreet. I also didn't know sequels are no big deal anymore. You're always talking about proven IP's and suddenly they don't matter.

Try to be a little more objective  because your opinion isn't fact. You can help by saying "In my opinion" no offence.

The line-ups are subjective. It's like arguing whether Coke or Pepsi is better.

That said, I personally think the PS3 lineup is more interesting. Off the top of my head, I can only think of 1 XBox360 exclusive that basically has no chance of being released on the PC. Ninja Gaiden 2.

Edit:  Meant to say XBox360 exclusive that I want.

PS3 has a better overall list of games for 2008 combined including MGS 4, Little Big Planet, Tekken 6, Haze, Socom:Confrontation, Resistance 2, Gran Turismo 5: Prologue and GTA IV (360 also has GTA IV). But Gears of War 2 is the best HD exclusive game that will sell the most copies this year. MGS 4 will sell 5 million copies. But Gears of War 2 will sell over 7 million copies alone.
Versus: Lost Odyssey, Ninja Gaiden 2, Fable 2, Too Human, Gears of War 2, Banjo Kazooie 3, Viva Pinata 2, Infinate Undiscovery, Tales of Vesperia and Halo Wars. Fail to see how PS3 has the best list.

Once again it's completely subjective. I can definitely see how the PS3's titles are better.

so basically, ps3 owners will be happy, and 360 owners will be happy with what they have.

You can't really say one lineup is better than the other.
The words are: i prefer lineup A to B... but B is still pretty cool.

Anything else and then i'm allowed to call you a moron, because both systems have killer games this year.

hands down its pepsi.

I think the Xbox360 list is smarter. The FPS crowd has already been tapped out mostly and more of the big games are RPG and ACTION type games.

If I was going to bet, I would say that the Xbox360 list will make more of an impact in terms of sales than the PS3 list simply because they have the most variety in their big games. Socom, Resistance, MGS4 are all hardcore shooter games whereas Fable 2, Too Human, Left 4 dead are more accessible for new players.

In terms of system sellers I would pick the Xbox360 because they have changed tack and aquired some awesome RPG games and action games this year.

In terms of critical acclaim? I think the PS3 lineup will edge the Xbox360.

In terms of total sales? I think the Xbox360 lineup will beat out the PS3 one yet again by a good margin due to the wide range of tastes it caters for.

Tease.
