Forums - Gaming - If "Shovelware" is the name of the game,

would you buy it?

If it was at a shovelware price like $19.99.

A game called Shovelware?

... just for the sake of having it in my collection, not to mention being able to put "Now playing: Shovelware (Wii)" into my sig, definitely yes.

If it was a sim/management game where your objective was to profit by releasing crappy games, then yes. Think about it: you would work on NinjaBread Man 3 online, Mary Kate and Ashley games, minigame compilations and so on.

Hrm... you haven't actually told us what this game called Shovelware would be like, so I'll answer that hypothetical by filling in some blanks.

I would, if it was a hardware store sim. I've never actually wanted to own and manage a hardware store, but damn micromanagement is fun. I'd have a go at keeping stock levels up, customers happy, promoting new products, handling disputes, et cetera. The opportunity to expand the business and eventually buy new stores would be cool, and I'd being able to customise the interior design of my shop if that were part of it. It'd be neat if they added a cool back story (like, you borrowed money from the mafia to buy your first shop) too. Starting the game in a historical period and progressing to a modern age (a la Civ or Sim City) would be the icing on the cake. If a game like that had the name Shovelware, I'd buy it.

Shovelware could be a sandbox game with a story surrounding bloodlust and love ...... for games.. but yeh.. a name wouldn't effect my purchase, the contents probably would :P

Whoever said it would be for the Wii?

Parokki only owns a Wii, therefore it would be natural for him to put Wii after it.
