Forums - Nintendo - Wii's sucess - sweet revenge

Maybe I am a bit stupid ,but these past 14 years I have been playing games not following executives declarations ...that in fact were way fewer say 10 years ago.

In fact ,I never owned a PS2 and had a Xbox and Game Cube and I perceived those hadnt the same kind of support as the PS2 ....but never got enraged because of "evil directives bragging about PS2 superiority" .

I think this is basically a Nintendo fans mental problem.Nintendo was number one and once it wasnt they just couldnt support it and have been hating since then. And now that they think they have their revenge at hand they dont care that Nintendo has changed so much as to being its opposite to achieve victory through the non-gamer market.Nintendo fans in previous generations were proud about their hardware ,their/our games ,Nintendo hardcore and deep games ,deep multiplayer ,etc etc...now they jump in the hoops Nintendo puts to them with no-games as Wii Fit and Brain Training and hardcore games that arent such a big departure from the last generation ones.

"14 years of getting kicked in the balls leads to a lot of pent up payback."

Well, but for you, this 'revenge' thing is just for fun or do you actually take it serious?

I find it amusing and sad,at the same time, that (so many) people get worked up because of a fricking videogame, when they don´t see a *** $$$ these companies make...'unpaid employees'...that´s what they are.

I consider it serious fun.  I enjoy the debate factor - fun.   I take the industry itself serious.

As for unpaid employees....well, that depends if you invest or not like some of us (hint) or if you're in the business itself like some of us (hint).

I was referring to the hordes of people who are neither investors nor in the business and who take this console 'wars' too seriously,to the point their lives seem to depend on their beloved system´s sales numbers.

But anyway, you work (or used to work) in the industry,

Sorry,it goes:

But anyway, you work (or used to work) in the industry,Viper?

If this was the PS3 or 360 winning right now, half the people here wouldn't be calling the topic so stupid. Some people actually do take it seriously.

Can you imagine people telling you your system sucked for 10+ years? You bought something that wasn't worth it? The Purple Lunchbox GameCube and the Bad Black N64 were laughed at sometimes because of Sony's domination for 13 years. You saw the picture above of them gloating the PS2's success, so don't act like they weren't rubbing it in.

Finally, after many years of being at the bottom, Nintendo is on top again, without spin doctors and marketing full of bragging. The non-games as the "hardcore" call it are saving the industry. Look up Malstrom's articles if you want to know the real low-down on what's going on.

Let the Nintendo fanboys have their time. After years of bashing, poking fun, and Anti-Wii months, they deserve it. If you don't like the topic, DON'T POST.

@JGarret.

Media but don't ask. It has no bearing for why I post here and I'd much prefer it not be a focal point.

Zealots are a part of every entertainment medium from video games, to movies, to cars, to sports, etc.... The vocality of each segment is minor compared to the fanbase as a whole. To be certain most zealots have no use for logic and reason but there can be times when their vocal outcries can have justification. Such as Nintendo's return to form after over a decade of constant inferiority and condescension from the media, other zealots and competing corporations themselves.

"Media but don't ask."

Ok,I won´t :)

But just tell me one thing....do you (usually) have access to any kind of first hand information?....I won´t ask you to tell me 'names' (you wouldn´t anyway),but have you heard anything on "super big" unknown projects from any company that´ll be shown at E3 or TGS?

Other than Nintendo supposedly having one hell of a show at E3, nothing else.....yet.

It's too early for Western media to get any TGS tidbit anyway. Even most publishers aren't sure what will or won't make that show yet aside from he obvious big names we already know about.
