It is revenge time for the Wii fans this generation, with Wii more than doubling console sales of the PS3. Over a decade the PS1 and PS2 mauled both the N64 and Game Cube in console sales.

230 million for the first two Play Station consoles between 1994 to now compared N64 and Game Cube 56 million. PS outsold Nintendo in consoles by more than 4 times.

Nintendo fans with the Wii' success will be saying revenge is sweet and will be popping the champagne that has been on ice for many years.

Ehh... if posts like this keep happening it's going to be harder and harder to come here.

"Revenge" really?

Revenge for what? Making a better product that last two generations?

I mean, if you didn't buy a playstation system the last two generations and instead got nintendo systems i'm guessing you did for the first party. So who cares?

What do you need revenge for? I mean the Gamecube and N64 had a handful of the best games of each generation. Nothing to be getting "revenge" over.

Enjoy the sweet taste of victory Nintendo fans. It is like seeing your sports team getting a break through championship win. You support your team through think and thin. You finally get rewarded with a memorable victory. Glory times for Nintendo have arrived and enjoy the victory.

Not only is this thread unfashionably late to the party but it's just very sad. Does it really affect your life in such a way that revenge is on your mind for Sony just because they provided a better atmosphere for game development? You do realize Nintendo sunk their own ship, don't you? It wasn't Sony.

Revenge for what? Nintendo pissing off Sony and Sony kicking the hell out of them for two generations for their stupidity?

I wouldn't call it stupidity. Based on what I know by the way the deal was written up at the time accepting probably would of cost Nintendo more.

The deal gave Sony complete control over any game made on the SNES CD. It was just a bad contract all around. The only stupid part was signing it in the first place getting Sony to start the research on the playstation.

 Exactly, Nintendo allowed Sony to develop the thing and then backed out of the contract. So really Sony got revenge on Nintendo.

Is not revenge, is called disruption. Ever since the playstation era(PS1 and PS2) Ninty feels there'll be another video game crash when game developers starting to pimp the games than focus more on gameplay. FMVs, too much focus on story/dialogues, high end graphics, too much shooters, etc... so they invented the Wii to make the games feel novel again. Read Malstrom's articles to know what I mean...

E3 2008- Armageddon. Wii motion plus introduced. Wii Music. Reggie says Animal crossing was a core game. Massive disappointment. many Wii core gamers selling their Wii.
