Hard drive is needed for Nintendo Wii to store more down loadable games. This would results in more online downloads for gamers which generates more revenue and profits for Nintendo.

But SD card full support would mean no extra hardware, and you still get extra space, and Nintendo still gets profits.

but isnt a 32GB SD card expensive as heck? And external HDD would probably be cheaper with more bang for your buck. Really they should make it so you can use an external HDD for your PC and Wii that way its a better value.

Who says it would have to be that big? A few 2GB or 4GB should be fine for all the most ardent downloader (remember the Wii doesn't have demos and multimedia), and if they need more than that, they would likely spring for a much bigger SD card.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
