*spasms* I loved Red Alert and RA2 with a passion, and Yuri's revenge was a brilliant add-on. I just hope EA TRY and retain some of the soul of the previous Red Alert games, please god >_

yuri's revenge really wasn't a brilliant add-on... at all.
It took the near perfect balance of RA2, and totally shit all over it.
Haha battle fortresses (with guardian GI's)? The soviets became worthless. And God let's not even talk about Yuri as a playable faction... Every single thing about it was unbalanced.
And no, I didn't just suck. I beat plenty of Yuri players in ladder play back in my day. The expansion pack was just horrendous.

I'm kind of confused why folks are impressed by these graphics? There have been several RTS games in the past year or two that looked much better on the PC.
The water ripples are good, and the lighting is good, outside of that I'm not impressed with the textures or model detail tbh.
The water effects are good, otherwise nothing TOO impressive.
And yes, EA is a whore and should die...but I think I'll still get this game. It looks like a fun RTS and if it's anything resembling RA2 (my favorite RTS to this day), I'll enjoy it.

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release. (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )
I loved RA 1/2, but after Generals I have a hard time getting excited for any C&C.
Though I haven't played C&C3 yet.
More than anything, I'm actually disappointed that they're apparently reusing the song Hell March 2; how about using some new music, or least a third iteration of HM?

Generals was a disaster, the only C&C game ive ever thrown out, C&C3 is great, u should definetley get it. Red Alert 3 looks pretty sweet to, the PC version will be a must buy for me.
List of CNC games for anyone who doesen't know
Command & Conquer (Tiberian Dawn) (Westwood Studio)
Command & Conquer: Red Alert (Westwood Studio)
Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun (Westwood Studio)
Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2 (Westwood Studio)
Command & Conquer: Renegade (Westwood Studio) (FPS. All other cnc games are RTS)
Command & Conquer: Generals (EA LA)
Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars (EA LA)
Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 (EA LA)
Honestly, EA have had a lot of trouble trying to remake the magic that games prior to EA had.
What does people think is missing from recent cnc games ?
-Audio. Frank Klepacki was the guru of cnc music. After westwoods shotdown and Petroglyphs Establishment EA haven't been able to come anywhere close to the musical atmosphere of the old games.
-CutScenes. .. Theyr just wrong. Plain and simple. For some reason EA has got the idea that every room in a Nod controlled place only has Red light and for some reason GDI has become very fond of blue light. They must have trouble reading normal paper. Especially Nod. (where did i leave my keys?) They have also managed to ruin some of what made the char. "Kane" So unique.
-Ingame. Horrible Balance, horrible netcode. Also the fact that it takes them atleast a year to patch the game to a condition where each side can be called "balanced" (although true balance.. nah)
The fact that most of their unit designs also comes from scrapped westwood content and the fact that they have singlehandedly killed the story also says something.
I'll probably still buy and play it though. It's just a shame.
