Forums - Nintendo - First Footage of The Conduit

Nothing about this game screams ZOMG MUST HAVE to me, but it looks very decent. In any case, it's to see developers giving the Wii some respect and putting serious efforts into games for it. Or should that be "it's good to see developers have been making quality stuff all along, and there's finally enough to show off"? =P

Probably not buying it straight away unless it turns out truly exceptional, but will probably try to get it eventually.

Hey does anybody know where I can find a larger version of this pic. I found it on ign, but when you click on it they take you to the video. It's probably the best pic i've seen of the game yet. http://wiimedia.ign.com/wii/image/item/473/4738848/conduit_041708_thumb.jpg

Well I for one was semi-impressed. Actually the tech demo I found more impressive then the actual gameplay demo. However the gameplay demo does look very impressive considering the crap we've been given in the 1st person shooter space. I would say it does strongly resemble that of first generation 360 games like CoD2 etc...etc... small details like the lack of any visuals in the scope for example set this game on a lower level then the like of CallOfDuty.

Basic small details that have become industry standard are missing from the game. Such as high end textures and realism like the scope sporting just plain glass. The effects of the rocks and the wall bursting are also sort of dated they look like something I would expect from a high end X-Box game. However the Wii is exactly that a high end X-Box with a Wiimote.

I think the reason I will pick this game up is if it has online Death Match. The guns look pretty interesting and the story while typical does catch my attention. In the demo I noticed the Illuminaty Symbol being used again and again (Pyramid with the all seeing eye" I wonder how they fit the illuminaty into the plot line.

In the end for a Wii game it sports pretty decent visuals and I'm betting High Voltage will only improve those visuals before launch. The engine appears to be pretty ground breaking for the Wii and I think that once developers get their hands on it we will see massive improvements as we have with the Unreal engine when third parties got their tweeking little hands on it.

Its a great start for the shooter genre on the Wii. Because really we haven't had a single real standing out shooter launched to date!

......I just found out there was a Turok 3 on the N64............

But to stay on topic, The Conduit has a lot of room left to grow. I highly doubt this is what the final product will look like.

Leatherhat on July 6th, 2012 3pm. Vita sales:"3 mil for COD 2 mil for AC. Maybe more. "  thehusbo on July 6th, 2012 5pm. Vita sales:"5 mil for COD 2.2 mil for AC."

I am not totally sold yet but interested. High Voltage seems to know how to make a decent game now so I'll see what happens

BTW, they didn't make the console version of 50 Cent Bulletproof. Genuine Games made that. High Voltage made the PSP version, for what that's worth.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

Don't play Turok 3 on N64. It was ass. The first two were amazing, but then they just started whoring it out. There was Rage wars a multiplayer only turok that was no where near as good as goldeneye or perfect dark multiplayer, and then the craptacular Turok 3.

You can find me on facebook as Markus Van Rijn, if you friend me just mention you're from VGchartz and who you are here.

Well it looks great for a Wii title, but in terms of Art Style, it's lacking a bit. I hope they get the controlls right.

What do you mean by the art style is lacking?  Are you talking about the relative lack of textures used in the footage?

Did anybody find the image I mentioned earlier. It looks really nice even though I could barely see it. http://wiimedia.ign.com/wii/image/item/473/4738848/conduit_041708_thumb.jpg
