Well I'm just asking since the other day,I heard on a podcast that games are no longer hard  and they put smg as an example that it was one of the easiest games ever.I have beated smg with all the 242 stars and althought there are some easy stars to get there are some that were hard like Melty Molten- Lava Spire Daredevil Comet, Luigi's Purple Coins and Battlestation' Purple Coins.

To beat the main game, i.e. bowser, is definitely far easier than NES/SNES mario games. -- Thing is this is where most people stop playing.

To get all stars with both characters is a different story.

I think Super Mario Galaxy's difficulty is perfect. The best I've ever seen in a non-Tetris game. Only Ocarina of Time and Metroid Prime have like the same ideality.

I don't think they understand the design of the game.

It's easy to beat if you go from A to B but if you want everything all the way to Z, it's frikkin hard. The idea is to allow it to be fun for gamers of all skill levels.

Which were the hardest stars to get,in your opinion rol?

It's easy to get 60 stars and beat Bowser, but I still have like 30 stars to go until 120, and I have no idea what to do. But the basic game (from staring to saving the princess) was really easy.

SMG is not easy. There are several worlds where collecting purple coins is very challenging. For example the one where the world makes up an 8-bit Mario.

Luigi's Purple Coins is definately the hardest star to get in the game. I died so many times before finally getting it.

SMG is easy, or it is hard. Depending on what you want to do.

Doing everything as easily as possible is not *too* difficult. You can skip the harder stars and fight bowser doing only the easiest stars in the game. The game has plenty of challenges. I've only gotten like 116 stars or something because of all of the gaming distractions lately, but there is plenty of challenge in the game.

 Nintendo uses this design in many of its games.
